I could not be happier to be writing yet another Paula’s Choice skincare review today. Every time I get the chance to try a new product from Paula’s Choice, I fall in love with it even more than the last. Is it even possible to love a skincare product that much? The limit does not exist!!
One of these products is not a stranger to ze blog. The 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant ($29.50USD) has been around forever, but for good reason. It’s literally a miracle in a bottle. However, I don’t think I actually fully appreciated it until now. A couple weeks ago, my skin started acting up. For the first time in my adult life, I started getting a cluster of bumps on my forehead and bridge of my nose. They weren’t quite fully formed pimples that broke through the surface but instead they just stayed underneath my skin and refused to go away no matter what I did. It was frustrating to say the least. I was well versed with getting hormonal acne on my chin and cheeks and using benzoyl peroxide to clear up the those pimples, but this was something way different and beyond my expertise. Nothing seemed to clear them up.
But then this package from Paula’s Choice arrived on my doorstep and I was reunited with this 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant and I immediately knew this would be the skincare product to clear up those pesky little bumps. And guess what? I was right. Within TWO days (no exaggeration), the bumps were gone. GONE. I couldn’t have been more amazed. All my prayers had been answered by this lil’ bottle. And why exactly does it work so well? Well, the 2% beta hydroxy acid (AKA salicylic acid) mimics the natural exfoliation process of younger skin by helping it shed extra layers while unclogging and clearing pores to achieve a more even, radiant tone, plus visibly reducing fine lines and wrinkles to reveal smoother, younger-looking skin.
The other product I got to try alongside the Liquid Exfoliant is the Paula’s Choice Omega+ Complex Serum ($37USD). I had previously used the Omega+ Complex Moisturizer ($35USD) and I very quickly fell in love with it (read my review here) and I’m happy to say the serum version followed in it’s footsteps. The serum contains Omega 3, 6 and 9 oils plus skin-identical ceramides and hydrating ingredients to visibly improve skin’s health. These fatty acids help to replenish dull, dehydrated skin and leave it with a smooth, supple feeling while visibly softening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. And because this serum is so nourishing and hydrating, I don’t find myself necessarily needing a heavy moisturizing overtop. It does quite a nice job on it’s own!
