It’s been a hot minute since I last talked about Paula’s Choice on ze blog (check out my last Paula’s Choice post here), but I will take any opportunity to talk about my favorite skincare brand and it’s newest products. And today’s post is an especially good one because it’s solely dedicated to the new Pro-Collagen Peptide Plumping Gel-Cream Moisturizer ($66CAD/$49USD).
A good moisturizer is always surprisingly difficult to find. It has to be lightweight enough for my oily skin, but also deeply hydrating for how dry it is in during Albertan winters. It has to sit nicely under makeup, without making it pill or settle into fine lines. It has to keep my skin matte throughout the day, but also form a good barrier to keep my skin moisturized all night long. See. I told you. All of these things make it near impossible to find the perfect moisturizer for my skin! But, Paula’s Choice has done it again with their Pro-Collagen Peptide Plumping Moisturizer.
I would describe this moisturizer as a cushiony lightweight gel-cream formula. It has a really lovely almost bouncy texture that absorbs in super quickly, is non-greasy, but also provides excellent 24-hour hydration. My skin instantly feels refreshed and any tight, dry feeling is reduced. It also wears really nicely under makeup, not causing it to pill or settle in. But, the highlight of this cream is probably it’s plumping effects. This is due to it’s formulation containing not one, not two, but three different pro-collagen peptides (like the name suggests) including Hexapeptide-5, Oligopeptide-1, and Tridecapeptide-1. These three peptides work together to support the skin’s moisture balance, supporting natural collagen levels, while giving the skin a youthful bounce and visibly plumping and smoothing any fine lines.
