I have been waiting to review these Benefit products for way too long now. It wasn’t until I had three different products stockpiled that I am now getting around to photographing them and writing this post. As I’ve said countless times before on ze blog, better late than never right? So, let’s just jump right into this post!

First up: the Hello Happy Velvet Powder Foundation ($40CAD/$30USD). Do you want the good news or the bad news first? Okay okay fine. Good news first. The packaging is super cute and goes along with their original Hello Happy Liquid Foundation (review here). How could you not love the cute little heart-eye smiley face? Second, it comes with both a brush and a sponge so that’s super convenient for travel! And third, it’s a buildable coverage powder so you can use it as either a light setting powder or as more of a typical powder foundation! And now- the bad news. Sorry, Benefit. This powder just ain’t it honey. It’s cakey, way too soft (powder gets EVERYWHERE) and it slides off my face halfway through the day. I really wanted to love this powder but this was a big miss by Benefit. What is going on with Benefit lately?! They keep making products that just suck to put it simply. They need to step up their game big time.

But let’s move onto something a bit more positive: the POREfessional Pearl Primer ($43CAD/$32USD). I don’t think I’ve ever reviewed the original POREfessional on ze blog but that’s only because I hated it. Oops, I thought we were going to be more positive. But let’s be real, the original POREfessional primer makes me (and my friends’) skin break out so bad. It just clogs my pores and makes my skin hate me. And unfortunately the POREfessional Pearl Primer has the same effect. However, it is a gorgeous primer. It target pores while also brightening up the skin. It minimizes the look of pores, holds on to makeup and helps skin look glowy and awake. So, if you don’t have sensitive skin that breaks out easily, give this primer a try! See! I can be positive!

Okay, the next product I can actually be positive about. No more Negative Nancies around here. The Hoola Lite ($40CAD/$30USD) is one of my all time favorite bronzers. I could never wear the original Hoola bronzer as it was way too dark for my pasty skin. So when Benefit released a lighter version of it, pale people all around the world rejoiced. It’s perfection. It is way lighter than any bronzer I’ve ever owned but it’s the perfect thing for wearing on non-glam makeup days. It’s so natural but still helps to warm up and contour your face. It also smells amazing! Bonus! I am actually on my second box of this bronzer so that’s how you know I’m a big fan.

Bummer the powder foundation and primer didn’t work – I haven’t tried a powder formula in so long, but would be up for trying one! I haven’t tried the bronzer before but it sounds good!
