It’s my favorite time of the year! Is that because Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back at Starbucks?? No, it’s my other favorite time of the year! It’s time for a fall skincare revamp! As the weather gets cooler, I always like to incorporate some new skincare into my routine so my skin doesn’t go into shock when the temperatures drop 40 degrees in the span of a month. As lovely as it is to experience all four seasons, it can also be a little rough on my skin! And so, here are some products from my beloved Wishtrend that I will be adding into my skincare routine this fall.
First, we have a new cleanser. This is the Dear, Klairs Gentle Black Facial Cleanser ($16USD). It’s foams up really nicely but also has a lovely creamy texture so it’s super soft and mild on the skin. It contains a low pH to help it cleanse gently but also leaves the skin with a long-lasting hydration. And, if you’re anything like me, you might be wondering why it’s called the Black Facial Cleanser when it’s white in colour. That is because it consists of Klairs’ special Black Complex. The Black Complex is made up of Tuber Melanosporum Extract (Truffle), Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract, Nigella Sativa Seed Extract, and Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract to enhance hydration of the skin.
The next product is an especially exciting one. You’ve probably heard me talk all about the Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream ($25USD) on ze blog many, many times (here and here) and it’s still one of my favourite moisturizers. It’s a super gentle cream that helps to sooth and calm the skin with ingredients like Guaiazulene (extracted from Chamomile Oil) and Centella Asiatica (helps to reduce redness). It’s an all around stellar cream and that’s why I was so excited to try another product from the Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue line. The Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop ($30USD) is a serum designed to be used at night. It’s highly concentrated and formulated without the use of water so it’s as potent as possible! It helps to combat various signs of aging and skin damage, while also improving overall skin texture and appearance. It accelerates the skin’s renewal process and helps to add radiance and luminosity with the use of dual peptides, Guaiazulene (same ingredient as in the Midnight Blue Calming Cream) and Blueberry (to lighten dark spots). And it perfectly pairs with the Midnight Blue Calming Cream!
The next two products are part of By Wishtrend’s Propolis Energy line. Propolis is actually a resin-like material made by bees, used to build hives. It has stellar anti-inflammatory properties and is especially wonderful at healing and treating acne. The first product in the line is the By Wishtrend Propolis Energy Calming Ampoule ($32USD). It contains Houttuynia Cordata Extract as well as a whopping 15% Propolis. This formulation helps to protect skin against bacterial and fungal acne, while also making it an effective post-acne treatment to heal the acne scars. The propolis also adds a protective barrier over the skin to help it retain moisture, elasticity and help calm any inflammation.
After applying the Propolis Energy Calming Ampoule, the By Wishtrend Propolis Energy Balancing Cream ($28USD) layers beautifully on top. It has the same soothing, anti-inflammatory effects as the ampoule but also helps to increase the moisture of the skin even more. But, because of it’s light, gel-like texture, it won’t be too heavy for acne-prone skin. I would recommend this cream for more oily, combination skin and recommend the Midnight Blue Calming Cream if you need a bit heavier level of hydration and moisture.
