This is a very delayed post but what else is new? I picked this up at the Sephora VIB sale but not the one that just passed. Nope. I picked this palette up back in August and I’m just now getting around to writing a post about it. But better late than never, hey?

This is the Viseart Petit Pro 4 Apricotine ($30USD/$40CAD) and when the name says petit, they really do mean it. These palettes are TINY. They are filled with 8 eyeshadow pans just barely larger than my fingernail (1 gram each to be exact), but their full size palettes (12 pans, 2 grams each) cost a hefty $80USD/$100CAD so y’all know I’d (aka my wallet) prefer this size no matter how small it actually is. Plus the small size just makes it that much more ideal for travelling (apparently I think I’m a world traveller now).

So why do Viseart eyeshadow palettes cost so much? That’s what I have been wondering for years and that’s exactly why I had to finally pick up a Viseart palette during the VIB sale at Sephora. First of all, Viseart is professional makeup. It’s not a gimmicky, trendy brand. It is well-known by professional makeup artists from French television and film and is incredibly high quality that performs well. It also focuses on using healthy, safe ingredients that don’t include any harmful chemicals. The shadows are extremely pigmented, buttery and blend out flawlessly. They are easily the nicest eyeshadow that I own in my collection (that’s really saying something). You can immediately tell why they’re worth their hefty price tag when you start to apply these shadows.

This particular palette is the Apricotine edition. It’s filled with warm browns and peaches (or apricots, duh) with four mattes and four shimmers. Both formulas are perfection. So many mattes are usually chalky and uneven but these glide on so smoothly! The matte shades include Meringue (a light, warm-toned brown), Praline (a medium, warm-toned brown, Apricotine (a soft apricot camel shade) and Dolce (a rich espresso brown). The four shimmer shades are Sugared (a frosted champagne gold), Grenadine (an iced coral), Bourbon (a deep chocolate) and Mimolette (burnished coppery orange). Although I absolutely love all of the shades, I do wish there was one lighter matte shade that I could use as either an all over the lid shade or a highlight shade. Blame my fair skin but all of the mattes are strictly crease or liner shades on me. But that’s really my only complaint!

Oh wow I love the colors! Out of all the Viseart eyeshadow palettes I tried, there is only one that I didn’t love. Their eyeshadows are so good!
