Back to School Makeup Faves!

I’ve recently switched up quite a few of my daily makeup products just in time for back to school! I have really been loving trying new things lately and I’ve found so many awesome products that I’m sure are going to become a permanent part of my makeup routine! Keep reading to learn all about my back to school makeup favorites!

Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base (#02 Champagne)– I hate primers. I don’t care if it will help my makeup stay on longer, I refuse to use them. I just hate that thick silicone feel. So you can imagine my surprise when I fell in love with this Clarins base. This is everything I’ve ever wanted in a primer. It’s lightweight, absorbs into my skin, gives my skin a healthy glow and best of all, the light yellow tone of it helps to perfectly counteract my red marks on my skin. It’s a miracle product. I recommend it to everyone! For those of you with darker complexions, they have a more bronzed toned one that is gorgeous as well!

Clarins Ombre Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow (#01 Golden Peach and #02 Golden Sand)– I have been a sucker for cream eyeshadow lately. They just make the perfect base for when I am doing a more metallic eye look. And when these say waterproof, they really do mean waterproof. Once these shadows dry, they are not going anywhere. I’ve never had an eyeshadow stay this well before. However, if you have dry or wrinkly lids, they can be a pain to use because they show every line and imperfection. But they’re pretty. Really pretty.

Physicians Formula Super CC Powder (Light Medium)– I tried this powder on a whim and honestly didn’t expect much from it. It was super pretty before I used it because it had a colourful overlay of green, pink and yellow specks that are supposed to colour correct your skintone. Sadly, it disappeared shortly after I started using it. Why they didn’t put the colour correcting specks all throughout the powder is a mystery to me. Regardless, I love this powder. It has fantastic coverage and it blends perfectly into my skin! It honestly makes it look airbrushed. I’m a huge fan.

Clarins Bronzing and Blush Compact– I honestly don’t think I’ve ever talked about a bronzer on the blog before. What?! A beauty blogger has never done a review on a bronzer before?! How is that even possible?! I hate hatedbronzer, but not anymore! My eyes have recently been opened up to the magic of bronzer and how it can warm up your face and make you look glowy and healthy. This Clarins limited edition Summer 2016 bronzer is one of my favorites. It’s made up of four shades with a bit of shimmer and sheen that when you mix them all together, they create the most perfect warm bronzed shade. I love sweeping along my forehead, cheeks and down my neck. I really notice a difference when I don’t use it. Who knew bronzer actually did something? (Everyone except you, Taylor. You should be ashamed to call yourself a beauty blogger. Or work in cosmetics for that matter.)

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer (#51 light radiance)– I have loved the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation (review here) for as long as I can remember so why have I never used the matching Healthy Mix Concealer until now? Who knows. But what I do know is that I love this concealer just as much as the foundation. It definitely didn’t disappoint. It’s lightweight and the perfect colour for my skin. I have been loving this as an under-eye concealer. It hides any dark circles perfectly and really brightens them up! Plus, there are apricot extracts for added radiance and raspberry extracts to act as a micro-circulation activator and anti-fatigue!

Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara– This was the very first mascara I used at the wee age of three (ooh that rhymed) for my ballet recitals. I know, I was introduced to expensive makeup at a young age and people still wonder why I’m so obsessed with makeup. But anyways, I always associated that mascara with my prepubescent years so I never thought to give it a try again until now. But oh wow, this is one good mascara. It has a rather dry formula which is so weird because I usually only prefer wet formulas but yet, this one works perfectly with my lashes. It gives them just the right amount of both volume and length while still eliminating any clumps!

Elizabeth Arden Sunset Bronze Prismatic Lip Gloss (Midnight Kiss)– I have been on a lipgloss kick lately. I always try to keep one in my purse so I remember to apply them! Lipgloss is just one of those things that you can so easily forget throughout your day. I really love this one in particular. It’s one of the most unique shades I’ve ever seen. It has hot pink, orange, and gold shimmers and is incredibly holographic (Hello SimplyNailogical). It almost hurts my eyes to look at it because it has so much dimension and sparkles! Plus it’s not sticky at all which is always a must for me. It layers perfectly over any lipstick or even on it’s own!

Clarins Lipliner Pencil (#03 Nude Rose)– This is the lipliner that got me into lipliners. Before this one, I rarely touched my stash of lipliners. I just didn’t see the point of them. But this one is so smooth and creamy that I love wearing it on it’s own or underneath a lipstick. It’s especially wonderful under a liquid lipstick like the Nyx Lip Lingerie that I will be talking about below. It totally helps keep my lips looking moisturized and plump, even with a matte lipstick over top. It’s a must.

Nyx Lip Lingerie (Push Up)– The Nyx Lip Lingeries have quickly become some of my favorite liquid lipsticks. They dry to such a gorgeous matte finish without being as drying as others yet still smudge-proof! And this shade is probably my most favorite shade ever. At first I was worried that it would be a bit too brown for me but it’s actually perfect. I have been wearing it non-stop all September. Check it out in my recent Instagram post here.

Wow, that was quite a bit of raving about makeup today, hey? But seriously, these nine products have changed my life. Yes, that is a very accurate statement. It’s been a very good month of makeup.
