Favorite Five Foundations

Year after year, it’s always the same. Once the hot Summer passes, all of my glowy BB creams and tinted moisturizers go back into storage and I pull out my pale foundations for the colder months. I never get much of a tan during the Summer but when Winter hits, I transform into a ghost once again. I’ve never really discussed foundations on the blog much. They’re not the most exciting makeup items in the world, but I wear one everyday so why not talk about them a bit more on ze blog? These are the five I have been wearing the most lately, enjoy!

Estee Lauder Double Makeup (1N2)

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation is always a classic. But why have they still not put a pump on their packaging? Nobody likes to pour a bottle of liquid into their hands. Get it together Estee Lauder. But the formula is amazing. It’s a full coverage, yet still lightweight foundation. It’s awesome for both oily and dry skin and it stays looking great all day long.

Estee Lauder Double Wear To Go(1C1)

This compact solved all the problems that I stated above with the regular Double Wear foundation. It’s the exact same formula (as far as I know), but with one major difference. The foundation is housed in a compact that dispenses the product with the push of a button. It’s perfect for travel, however economically, it’s not perfect. It’s five dollars more than the regular Double Wear foundation, yet it contains less than half the amount. So don’t go using this as your regular foundation. This should be reserved for your purse and your purse only.

Dior Forever Foundation (#010)

Dior sure knows how to make a great foundation. And this might be the only shade that truly matches my skin. I have incredibly pink undertones so this is the one foundation that actually doesn’t look too yellow on my skin (if you do have more yellow undertones, try the #021). It has a similar texture to the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in that it is lightweight and full coverage. However, this one is more of a matte finish which I definitely love for the colder months. Plus, it has SPF 35 which is always ideal.

Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation (#1.1)

I actually used to hate the Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation. It always felt so gloopy and thick when I used to swatch it on my hands. Nothing is worse than a thick and gloopy foundation. However, this foundation definitely feels different on your face rather than your hands. When I used a Beauty Blender to apply it, it went on beautifully. The only problem is that Smashbox foundation tend to be more on the yellow side, but I can work around that.

Clinique Even Better Foundation (Linen)

I have been a huge fan of Clinique foundations for a long time now. Back in the day, I used to wear the Acne Solutions foundation (shade: Alabaster), but since then, I’ve gravitated towards the Even Better foundation. The Even Better foundation is just worry-free to put it simply. It’s a thin texture that gives medium coverage. It’s quick and easy to apply and basically fuss-free. I love that the foundation includes some ingredients to fade dark spots because we all know how hard I’m working to get rid of my acne marks. It’s just a great foundation all around.
