Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré for wedding makeup

I can hardly believe it’s 10 days until I get married. I booked the venue and started planning 591 days ago and now my wedding is just around the corner. I was pretty stressed during the first half of September with all of the last-minute details and vendor confirmations, but I feel like this calmness has finally rushed over me and I’m just ready to marry my best friend! Aaaahhhh!!!!

When trying to decide what product I wanted to talk about on ze blog today, the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré ($47CAD/$32USD) seemed like the obvious choice to share my thoughts on. When I worked at Shoppers Drug Mart as a Beauty Expert (ugh, those were the good ol’ days), this was the go-to base for wedding makeup, and as far as I know, it still is. So, when I was trying to figure out what primer or cream I wanted to use underneath my makeup on my wedding day, this Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré was the one I tossed in my makeup bag for the big day.

What Is The Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré?

This cream is a super nourishing moisturizer that is recommended by both dermatologists and makeup artists. I find it can sometimes be hard to find a product that works well from both a skincare and makeup perspective. Sometimes what’s great for your skin doesn’t necessarily make the best makeup base, but that’s where this moisturizer really shines. The reason that this product is recommended by both dermatologists and makeup artists is that not only is it a fantastic moisturizer, but it’s also super versatile and multifunctional. And when I say multifunctional, I really do mean MULTIfunctional. The Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré can be used as a daily moisturizer, a makeup primer, a gentle cleanser, a hydrating mask, a soothing after-shave balm, and even an after-sun treatment. It has this super creamy texture that is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive ones. It just melts right into the skin.

Why I’m Using Embryolisse for My Wedding Makeup

The reason this moisturizer makes such a good makeup base comes down to its combination of nourishing ingredients. It contains shea butter to nourish and soften the skin, beeswax that provides protective properties, aloe vera to moisturize and soothe any inflamed skin and lastly, soy proteins to moisturize the skin even more. If you’re wanting to use it as a moisturizer and/or makeup base like me, just spread a small dab of this cream onto dry skin (a little goes a long way!). For cleansing and makeup removal functions, apply a generous amount and slowly massage it onto the skin. I love using a damp washcloth afterwards to gently swipe away the product. And as a mask, apply a thick layer to the skin and leave it on for up to 15 minutes. See, I told you! So multifunctional!

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré as a Makeup Primer

But the function that I love it for most, and the reason makeup artists love the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré, is that it creates the most perfect base layer before makeup. It has a thicker texture that fills in and smooths the look of any pores, lines, and wrinkles, leaving you with a flawless base. Sometimes when creams are too thick or nourishing, makeup can slip around on top of them, but that is just simply not a problem with this cream. The foundation sits so nicely on top of it and stays put all day (with a little help from a setting spray and setting powder of course). It truly is a must-have for any bride.
