The Suede Jacket of My Dreams

Originally, I had started off this post talking about the recent US election, but I sadly backspaced every word because let’s be honest. Everything that should be said has already been said on countless bits of social media and regardless of the opinions flying around, the results are the results and there’s nothing left to be done (except fight for your values of course, never stop fighting). So, I will avoid being redundant and move on with my outfit. But my friend, Rae, over at The Notice, wrote a wonderful blog post that sums up everything I am feeling currently. Well done, Rae! #ImWithHer.

We have been absolutely spoiled with the weather lately. It’s crazy. It’s almost the middle of November and I have yet to break out any of my winter clothes. Usually in Edmonton, we don’t really get this nice Fall period where I can actually wear the stereotypical Fall clothing, so this is such a welcomed change! Hopefully I don’t jinx the weather by saying that. If it snows tomorrow, we all know who to point our fingers at.

I have been wanting a suede jacket for so long, I just couldn’t find one. I know what you’re thinking, how couldn’t I find one?! They’re literally everywhere. Every picture on Pinterest seems to be of a gorgeous suede moto jacket. However, it just seemed that every one that I saw online or tried on in store, there was just something off about them. So, when Zaful contacted me about picking out a few items to feature on ze blog, I knew it would be a great chance to try a cheap suede jacket to see if I would get enough wear out of it before I splurged on one.

I am honestly so pleased with the jacket. It’s always a little risky ordering on a store like Zaful, where the items don’t always tend to match their pictures and the sizing can be a bit off, but I couldn’t be more happy with this jacket. I already know it’s going to become my Fall staple piece (or what’s left of Fall). It’s an olivey-tan colour with big silver hardware. It’s insanely comfy, but it is quite thin, so unfortunately, I won’t be able to wear it much longer. But who knows, if the weather is still warm mid-November, maybe we will have warm weather all Winter. But I don’t want that, I need a white Christmas.

There are not enough words in the world to describe my thoughts on this scarf that I also received from Zaful. It’s giant. It’s warm. It’s soft. It’s everything I have ever wanted in a scarf. And the colours and print makes it so versatile. It will match every single one of my Fall and Winter jackets. For accessories, underneath the scarf, I wore a choker from Zaful as well. Chokers have been a trend for so long now, but I’m still a little hesitant on them. I’m not the biggest fan of the ones that are just a strip of fabric or leather you tie around the neck. They’re just not me. But this metal chain choker with little dangly beads immediately caught my eye. It’s going to be a great layering piece with other chokers as well!
