A Christmas New Years Extravaganza

It’s that awkward time period again when Christmas has passed but the new year is on it’s way and you don’t quite know what to do with your life. Unless you celebrate a different holiday, then you can still be in the festive spirit! However for me, I’m in full relaxation mode. Truth be told, I don’t even know if I’m going to go out on New Year’s Eve. After Vegas, I think me and partying (partying and I*, I do know correct grammar, okay) are going to clash for some time now. But if I was going out, this would definitely be the outfit I would wear.

And in fact, I did wear this dress on Christmas Day because I’m in love with it. I picked this dress up on Black Friday from Zara (surprise there, I bought way too much that day) after eyeing it on the website for ages. It’s a crushed velvet t-shirt dress that is super comfy, yet definitely has that quintessential party vibe to it. It’s also available in a burgundy red colour and a gold! But this dusty rose shade is definitely right up my ally. I couldn’t imagine wearing any other colour. I’m throwing homage to my fifteen year old colour palette (I ONLY wore this colour). But, in addition to this dress being a great holiday piece, I also wore it in Vegas because if velvet dresses belong anywhere, it’s Vegas. See! It’s a surprisingly versatile dress; I’ve already worn it three times in three weeks!

Since the dress is a lil’ bold on it’s own, I kept the rest of my outfit as simple as possible. I threw on my favourite sock booties from Forever 21 and let me tell you something. I’ve already raved about them once before on ze blog, but I need to say it again. These are the comfiest boots I have ever worn. The heel is a decent height, yet they feel like you’re walking on clouds. I wore them three nights in a row in Vegas dancing my life away and my feet didn’t hurt at all. No blisters, no aching arches. How is that even possible? They’re so cheap, yet so good.

The next time I’ll be appearing on ze blog is in 2017, which is absolutely crazy to say. 2016 was one hell of a year and I can’t wait for the new year. New beginnings are much needed and I couldn’t be more excited to see where this year will take me. There’s only up from here, folks.
