Saturday Skin

I’ve talked about Take Good Care before on ze blog and they are still one of my favorite retailers of Korean skincare based in Toronto! I stalk their website and Instagram daily to see what new products they have in because everything I’ve tried so far has been absolutely amazing. And I’m having an extremely good skin month right now (which is honestly the best thing in the world) and I fully credit it all to Take Good Care. In particular, I’ve been loving a new line that they just started carrying, Saturday Skin. Saturday Skin is a newly launched brand that’s developed by the experts behind Seoul’s renowned CHAUM wellness centre. The brand targets women in their 20s and 30s, with their exclusive peptide formula (Cha-7 es Complex™) that promotes skin’s natural regeneration process.

Okay, if I evermade a skincare line (which side note: how cool would that be?!), this is exactly what I would want the packaging to look like. I almost squealed when I opened the package and saw the cute gold, pink and turquoise little boxes and then I actually squealed out loud when I opened them up and saw the pastel pink bottles. This is what ever girl wants sitting on display on her vanity. But it’s not just the (MOST GORGEOUS) packaging that captured my heart. The actual products are amazing.

Let’s start out with the Freeze Frame Beauty Essence ($62CAD). Essences are so popular over in Korea and I’m so glad they’re beginning to make their way over here. This one is more of a lightweight serum texture and I love applying it before my moisturizer to give my skin a little extra hydration. In addition to the added moisture, it also helps to boost the skin’s elasticity and firmness. I’m not getting any younger (I’m 22 in a MONTH), so I’ve definitely began to move on to more anti-aging products and this essence is definitely a great one to start out with!

But the real MVP (VIP?) is the Saturday Skin Featherweight Daily Moisturizing Cream ($62CAD). This is everything I’ve ever wanted in a moisturizer. First, let’s talk about the packaging. In addition to the beautiful external appearance, the packaging also lends itself greatly to the function as well. It’s packaged in a convenient and hygienic airless pump container, so all you have to do is press down on the surface and the cream dispenses just the right amount every time. I would always get worried scooping cream out of a jar with my fingers, so this definitely helps ease my fear of spreading any bacteria! And I don’t waste any product this way! I love the way this cream feels on my face. It’s a little bit thicker than the gel moisturizers I usually reach for, but my normal-to-combination skin has actually been loving that! Growing up with acne prone skin, I always used to be worried about putting anything remotely oily on my skin. However, I’ve since learned that my skin craves those oils and it just looks so much healthier and fresher when I use a thicker cream. But even though this cream is more hydrating, it still sinks instantly into my skin and helps to protect and soften it.

I’ve always had a trouble with finding eye creams that work for me. I have extremely sensitive eye areas and I find that when I use particular eye products, I get those little red bumps around my eyes because the creams are too rich for my skin. However, the Saturday Skin Wide Awake Brightening Eye Cream ($60CAD) is just right for my eyes. It’s hydrating without being too much and it’s formulated with date seed extract to brighten and refresh the area around the eyes. It’s so soothing and hydrating so I love to apply it every morning and night after my skincare routine. I think this will finally be the eye cream to get me into the habit of actually using one.

And last but definitely not least, we have the Saturday Skin Sheet Masks. If you remember mylast post from Take Good Care, y’all know I love a good face mask. Saturday Skin has two different varieties of their sheet masks. The first is the Quench Intense Hydration Mask ($8CAD) that contains hyaluronic acid, watermelon extract (how good does that sound!) and aloe extract to replenish moisture and hydrate the skin, which is absolutely perfect for these dry Alberta winters. The second is my personal favorite, theSpotlight Brightening Mask ($8CAD) thatis formulated with Bilberry, licorice and lotus extracts in the essence to help diminish dark spots to reveal radiant skin. If there’s one thing I say a ton on ze blog, it’s that I love to try to get rid of my acne red marks so brightening products are always something I reach for and this is a great one!
