PÜR Bare It All Foundation

I have been a huge fan of PÜR (formerly known as Pur Minerals) for the longest time. I am absolutely obsessed with their iconic 4-in-1 Pressed Powderand have used it for the better majority of my life, so when I heard they were launching an all new liquid foundation, I couldn’t wait to try it! And to be honest, I thought it would be quite a while before I would be able to try it (because nothing every launches in Canada at the same time as the US), but this gigantic box showed up on my doorstep last Saturday. All my prayers had been answered.

So like the 4-in-1 Pressed Powder, this Bare It All Foundation is also a 4-in-1 product, but with four very different benefits in one product! It 1) conceals, 2) perfects, 3) performs, and 4) energizes. It has incredible coverage. It’s definitely a buildable coverage that easily can transform into a full coverage look. It sits very nicely on the skin without settling too much into any pores or lines and leaves a nice satin/demi-matte finish without looking too flat or oily throughout the day!

But the real magic behind this foundation is what you can’t see. It has a combination of green tea, ginseng and vitamin B to stimulate the skin’s metabolic renewal process as well as a Ceretin Complex to help smooth, firm and lift the skin’s appearance for an ageless complexion. (And like I’ve said many times before, now that I’m almost 22, I love any and all anti-aging benefits). And as one more added benefit, this foundation also contains Blue Agave that hydrates and nourishes the skin, making it an ideal foundation for the dry winters. So not only does this product help your skin look amazing on the outside, but it also helps to keep your skin looking great from the inside out. I always love when my foundations have added skincare benefits in them. Killing two birds with one stone y’all.

PÜR also came out with two new brushes to compliment their foundation. If you haven’t tried any of PÜR’s brushes previously, you really have to give them a try! They’re so dense and soft and work amazingly! Their two new brushes, the Skin Perfecting Foundation Brush and Skin Perfecting Concealer Brush, however are following the new trend of having the bristles sideways instead on top, almost like a toothbrush. Except don’t use these to brush your teeth and don’t use a toothbrush to apply your foundation. I don’t think that would work well. Both brushes are so densely packed with the softest synthetic fibers. For the first couple of days, I would just pet these brushes. Is that weird? Maybe. However, when I went to use these on my face, it was definitely a weird experience and something you have to get used to. I am so used to using a Beauty Blender sponge, so it was quite weird to go back to a brush. And because these are so dense, they don’t just glide over the skin. You have to take quite long strokes. However because of that, they really buff in the foundation and everything looks so beautifully blended when you’re done. There’s not a single streak. The smaller Skin Perfecting Concealer Brush is a really nice one as well. I tried using it to apply concealer, but I didn’t quite like using it under my eyes; I much prefer a sponge. However, this is the greatest highlighting and contour brush. It has the perfect shape to apply product to the contour of your face, especially when using a cream contour product. It blends it in effortlessly!

And before I head off, I should mention one more thing. This foundation comes in 10, yes 10, shades! Working at Shoppers, it is the most frustrating thing when a darker skinned lady comes in and we don’t have a single foundation in the whole store that matches her. So I’m super excited that this foundation comes in such a wide variety of shades. It’s about time we started diversifying. And just for reference, I’m in the palest shade (because I’m literally a ghost), Porcelain!
