We’re celebrating the start of Spring with a brand new sunscreen from Dear, Klairs! However, if you saw Edmonton right now, you would definitely not think it’s Spring. It’s currently a blizzard outside of my window. Ah, yes, it has happened- the annual snow fall in April. You would think I would get used to it by now, but I just want sunshine and warm weather. Is that too much to ask for?
This is the new Dear, Klairs All-day Airy Mineral Sunscreen ($20USD/$27CAD) from Wishtrend and there are a couple of reasons why I’m so excited about it. First, the size. Now, usually I love skincare products that come in a jumbo size so I don’t have to repurchase them as often. But, this little guy is a mere 1.23 oz, or for us Canadian girlies, 35ml (usually sunscreens are closer to 50ml and come in bulkier packaging). This one fits in the palm of my hand and will be absolutely perfect for all of your vacations and road trips this summer. I already know it will be accompanying me to Europe in a couple of months. Hip hip hooray for minimal packaging and fitting all of my skincare into a carry-on suitcase! But, don’t worry about being skimped out of product. The pricing perfectly matches the smaller size. This sunscreen is only $20USD($27CAD) so it’s definitely gentle on the wallet as well!
Now, let’s talk about the actual formula. It’s super lightweight and non-greasy so you’re not even going to notice it on your skin. It absorbs in nicely and leaves very little white-cast on the skin, which is pleasantly surprising as it’s a mineral sunscreen with zinc oxide. It also provides a natural tone-up to the skin, creating natural radiance and an even skin-tone. I find it really helps to minimize any redness on my cheeks. It’s also perfect for sensitive and acne-prone skin as it’s incredibly soothing. It controls any oiliness on my skin throughout the day and I find I don’t experience any additional breakouts from this sunscreen.
Another thing that I think is really important to mention about this sunscreen is the scent. I hate the smell of most spf products. It’s that potent sunscreen smell that just reminds me I am wearing sunscreen all day. This Dear, Klairs All-day Airy Mineral Sunscreen, however, does not have that scent. It’s almost entirely scentless and for that, I am incredibly grateful! So, now that we have fully discussed the benefits of using this sunscreen, let’s talk about application. I’m sure we’re all well aware of the importance of wearing sunscreen every single day (even on this snowy, overcast April day), but do we all know how much sunscreen we should be applying every day? Although it might seem tempting to use just a pea-size amount (I used to be guilty of that!) similar to your day or night cream, you should actually apply much, much more than that. A coin-sized amount is a much more appropriate amount. This finger pose – šš» – is a great reference point to go by!
