We’re gonna have a fiesta in my Fiesta

AHHHH! The day has come. I’m so excited to introduce y’all to my baby. His name is Fernando. The name means“adventurous, bold journey” (that’s pure coincidence, I didn’t pick my car’s name based on that description; I’m not that much of a dork). But, you can call him Fernie for short. Fernie the Fiesta. Cute, right? I know. So I was a lil bit late on this whole buying a car game. I’m twenty two. I should have had a car (let alone a license) six years ago. But oh well, better late than never, right? All that matters is that I now have the most beautiful car in my hands.

So Fernie is a 2015 Ford Fiesta. Growing up, my heart was always set on a lil Fiat. But as I turned twenty-two years old, I realized I had to be a little bit more responsible and Fiat’s just weren’t mechanically sound (apparently??? I don’t know anything about cars). They’re shit quality for a lack of better words. So when I was car shopping, I stumbled across this cutie of a car. It was way over my original budget. But, I had a good chunk of money saved up. I wanted a 2013-2015 used car with less than 50,000 km on it. However, I decided just to test-drive this Fiesta and without meaning to, I fell in love with it. Just everything felt right with it. So I did some number crunching, pulled together my finances and decided it was worth it to spend a bit more money than I had originally planned. Thank god for emergency savings!

So let’s talk about why I fell in love with this car. First, it’s blue. I never thought I wanted a blue car, but I just absolutely love this shade. It’s bright without being too flashy and it matches all my outfits perfectly (because that’s the only thing that matters. Second, it has a number of great features built in! It already has a remote starter which is a lifesaver for using after an eight and a half hour shift at work. It also has navigation which is way more handy than I thought. Plus it has upgraded rims (wheels?) that I just thought were really pretty. It’s the little things. The cupholders and glovebox also have LED lights which you can change colours of! So currently, my car is pink inside. It’s heaven. But the most important thing? This car was only ever just a dealership car, it was never owned by ANYONE. So it’s practically brand new with very minimal mileage!

I honestly couldn’t be happier with Fernie the Fiesta. It just feels so darn good to not only have a car but to have bought it myself. My hard work has finally paid off. I feel like a real adult now. Plus Oakley likes it, so that’s all that really matters.
