So, Estee Lauder makes some of my favorite lipsticks ever.Yes, that’s right. I said ever. Their Pure Color Envy Lipsticks are incredible and I have been loving them for almost four years now, check out the original review of those ones here. But today, we are talking about something brand new to Estee Lauder, the recently released Pure Color Love Lipsticks!
Estee Lauder is definitely stepping up their game with these new lipsticks and I have been loving them! First of all, they’re millennial inspired so they’re all about fun, self expression and letting you play with colour. These were released at a cheaper price point at$28CAD/$22USD (compared to the Pure Color Envy lipsticks that are $38CAD/$32USD) because they are actually designed to be layered! You can wear two or more shades together to create a whole new look like simply mixing the colours together or creating an ombre or monochrome look! To assist with this layering, the lipsticks are available in four different finishes: Ultra Mattes, Shimmer Pearls, Edgy Cremes and my favorite, the Cool Chromes. The first three are exactly as they sound but the chrome formula is what makes this launch special. I wish I had some to feature on ze blog, but they are a super cool metallic glittery formula that can be worn alone or layered on top of another colour to create the coolest look ever with a sparkle effect! These lipsticks are also super moisturizing with pomegranate, acai and mango oils and a cake batter scent to go along with them!
I received the shades #270 Haute & Cold, a Shimmer Pearl, that is a deep pink with lil’ flecks of sliver and #450 Orchid Infinity, an Edgy Creme, that goes on a lot lighter than how it appears in the tube (thank goodness)! I also really like the bullet shape of these lipsticks. Instead of the traditional slope of normal lipsticks, these Pure Color Love lipsticks have a steep triangular angle on both sides of the bullet! The sharp lines help me line my lips with precision and get that perfect defined cupid’s bow! I am so excited to pick up a few more shades from this collection (especially the Chromes) to mix and match them!
