The fact that there’s two weeks until school starts makes me cringe. But also it makes me unbelievably excited. And before y’all start thinking I’m the world’s biggest nerd (which I am), I’m not just excited about the whole academics part of school. I’m also excited about wearing cute outfits again. Because yes, I’m the type of girl who lovesto dress up and try way too hard for school. I can just feel you judging me right now. But my summer outfits have been severely lacking, so I need first day of school vibes to get me back on track.
Speaking of lacking cute summer outfits, this outfit is really as simple as it gets. It’s a typical summer outfit of mine. A basic white t-shirt. Can you get any more boring? And white Adidas Miss Stans? C’mon. I’m snoring over here. But in a last ditch attempt to liven up my outfit and try to be at least a lil’stylish, I got these jeans from Anthropologie. At first glance, I think they’re super duper cute. They’re a mid-toned denim wash with a cropped length and then BAM! There are bejewelled brooches everywhere. Wow, that makes them sound tacky AF. Honestly, if I didn’t get these at Anthropologie, I would probably hate them too. Who puts fucking brooches on jeans? But alas, I thought they were pretty darn cute. However, all good things must come to an end. These brooches are just a disaster waiting to happen. When anything (and I mean anything) rubs against these jeans, they jewels just fly off. They are so badly attached. I need to take a glue gun to these jeans ASAP. Because after I wear these jeans a couple times, I have a very strong feeling there won’t be any jewels left. And then I’ll be very, very, very sad. Leaving a trail of gems behind me.
And because no summer outfit is complete without a baseball cap (that’s not true, I just made that up), I added the CUTEST millennial pink (AKA best colour ever) hat. I have been searching high and low for the perfect pink baseball cap. There were a few at H&M that had potential, but let’s be honest, none fit my head perfectly. I have a really small head, remember (and small hands and small nails and small ears and small eyes). But this baseball cap from Aritzia was, dare I say, perfect. It’s a super soft material so it molds to my head perfectly and the colour itself is enough to make it a winner. So I’m happy. It will come in handy during the school year when I’m trying to hide my greasy hair from the world (AKA every day of my life.. I’m not gross, I promise.)
