Back to School in Style Comfort

School starts in four days for me. And usually by this time, I’m absolutely dreading the year of stress ahead of me. But this year, I’m feeling something a little different. This is my last year of university. Five years later, I’m finally graduating. I remember heading into university and being absolutely terrified of everything I would face. And now I’m way too devastated to be graduating. These past five years have been the best years of my life and I have learned so much about myself and my future. Who would have thought that I would be getting a business degree in HR and accounting instead of my planned dermatology/palaeontology/education degree? (For a walk down memory lane, check out this #OOTD video from my very first day of university here– it’s a gem).

So, what is my first day of school outfit going to be this year? Probably this outfit to be honest. It’s comfy, it’s cute, it’s stylin’, but most of all, it’s not thatover the top. I’m constantly trying to tone down my outfits for school. It’s a real challenge. I recently picked up these culottes from Zara, with the help of my friend, Vanessa. I have been looking for culottes for the longest time, but a flattering pair is surprisingly hard to find. But, I was instantly drawn to the dusty pink colour; are you even surprised? And once I slipped them on, I knew they were going to be an absolute staple in my closet.

As for the rest of my outfit, it’s extremely basic. But that’s the good thing about these pants. You can throw them on with the most simplest of things and they can jazz up an outfit so easily. Thus, that is why they’re perfect for the first day of school. I will (hopefully) look effortlessly cute. I threw on a tank top with these pants. And let me be honest with y’all for a second. I’ve never really worn these tight cami-style tanks before because I’ve always thought I was a lil’ too fat for them (idk you gotta love body confidence issues), but they are so freaking comfy and easy to tuck in with these pants. I’ve totally changed my mind about them so I’m gonna pick up a bunch of other colours from Zara. They’ve become a layering staple in my closet. As for a sweater overtop, I grabbed this chunky, oversized knit from Aeropostale. Back in the day when I collaborated with Aeropostale for ze blog (still one of the coolest things I’ve ever done), I was gifted this sweater and I honestly couldn’t live without it. It’s so comfy and literally feels like you’re wearing a blanket around town. What more could you want? Especially for university lectures, this is a lifesaver.
