So it’s my first week back to school. And what a fun first week it’s been. Nah, that was all sarcasm, my friends. All sarcasm. I am missing summer greatly. I don’t like feeling stressed. And boy, oh boy, am I feeling stressed right now. To think I am going to be graduating in eight months is just a scary thought. But to counteract all this stress and unhappiness, I have been putting a great deal of thought and effort into my outfits for school. That’s how I’ve always been. No matter how unhappy I am to go to school, I always ensure that my outfits are on point so I have at least one thing to be happy about. Is that weird? Yeah. But, don’t get me wrong. Even though I’m incredibly stressed and unsure about my future right now, I still ultimately love school. It’s a great privilegethat I hold dear to my heart.
I just got these new jeans and they are everything that I needed (but didn’t know that I needed) in my life. These are the Citizens of Humanity Liya’s and they are a far cry from my usual Citizens Rockets that I own way too many pairs of. The Liya’s are described as a slim boyfriend style denim and like the Rocket’s, they come in a multitude of different washes and distressing levels. I found these at Holt Renfrew on sale for 50% off (y’all know how I love a good sale) and so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try a new style of denim and I’m so happy I did! These are such a nice change from my normal skinny jeans. But the biggest change from all my other jeans is how darn comfy these are. I have not worn another pair of jeans ever since I got these a month ago. No lie. But just a warning, these jeans run large and stretch a ton, so be sure to size down if you pick these up!
With the jeans, I’m wearing a very classic-Taylor outfit: a cream tank top with a taupe suede jacket layered overtop. It’s such an easy combination, but looks cute without fail. For shoes and to dress up the boyfriend jeans a touch, I’m wearing these nude, block heel sandals. I still can’t get over how amazing these shoes are. I picked them up the Bay probably three years ago and they are still going strong. They are an absolute essential in any closet. I’m also so excited about my purse today. I had been keeping my eyes on this purse on the Zara website for a while now. It went on sale, but I still wasn’t decided if I actually needed another purse (the answer was that I definitely didn’t). However, this purse kept getting marked down more and more until it was only $12.99. Yes, you heard right. Thirteen bucks. I still can’t believe what a steal it was. It’s so gorgeous with the yellow and blue accents and silver spikes. It’s the perfect pop of colour for every outfit. I’m obsessed.
