Send Nudes (Clothes)

I am constantly trying to tone down my girly outfits with sporty (?), casual (?) pieces, but I think sometimes I just end up being dressed up more than I was before. I try my absolute hardest to not be fancy at school, but y’all, I’m starting to just embrace the fact that I’m never going to be able to just be dressed casually. It’s just not me. Plus the warm weather is almost over, so let me wear what I want while I still can.

So I’ve been sick for the past three days and I’ve been the biggest baby throughout those 72 hours. I’ve been a sniffling, whining mess. My throat hurts. My nose is running. My head is spinning. But worst of all, I haven’t been able to dress cute. Instead, I’ve worn hoodies and flannels with sneakers to school and i’ve realized just how much I miss dressing up for school. I’ve never been more bored with my outfits than when I’m sick. So, nothing will cheer me up more when I have finally overcome this cold and I can stop being a baby and wear cute clothes again. Because apparently that’s all that’s important in my life.

I’m digging this outfit today though. It’s the perfect monochrome nude look (hence the title, don’t actually send me nudes) that ties in both girly and sporty (again, I use that term lightly) pieces. The inspiration behind this whole outfit is my white denim skirt. I picked this up from Aritzia last summer as a bar night outfit (because I’m ratchet), but since then, I’ve always been looking for ways to tie it into my normal, everyday outfits. I love the idea of pairing it with just a simple white tee and then adding a long, drapey vest overtop to tie everything together.

But the real winner of this outfit of my new sneaks (is that what the cool kids are calling them these days?). I picked these Vans up the day before school started as my official back to school clothing purchase (along with the cutest mustard sweater that will be on ze blog soon). But these aren’t any ordinary vans. These are light pink (almost nude) leather vans. Yes. Pastel pink and leather. Could they be any more perfect for me? And to really emphasize how sporty I am, I wore a dusty rose baseball cap from Aritzia that also helped to hide my bad hair day. Boy oh boy, has this hat came in handy for university so far.
