I Am The Definition of Athleisure

Well folks, snow has hit down here in Edmonton and you know what that means? That means I’ll be freezing my lil’ tushie off every week trying to shoot outfit photos for ze blog. But I’ll keep the complaining to a minimum. Maybe. Because it’s freakin’ cold. And guess who got sick after shooting these photos on a parkade roof in -15°C weather? Yes, that’s me. I’m sitting here with a runny nose and coughing ever two seconds. Y’all better appreciate these photos.

So, I’m pretty girly for the most part, but every once in a while, I’ll go and surprise you and step out of the house in a very sporty‘athleisure outfit’. But guys, even though I don’t look as cute and chic as usual (lol do I ever?), I’m really feeling this look because I truly love each and every one of the pieces I’m wearing today. And plus, I was super comfy.

Let’s start off with this bomber. I feel like this is the quintessential piece in every basic white girl’s closet. However, I never picked one up because all the ones I found were cheap and tacky. But this one is a Scotch and Soda bomber. So cheap and tacky it is not. It’s such good quality with silver metal grommets, an elasticated waist and an incredibly thick lining. But let’s be real. The main reason I bought this jacket is because it has pockets on the inside. It sold me.

I have been searching high and low for a solid coloured hoodie for ages. And when Simons sent me a giftcard (bless your soul, Simons), I stumbled across this oversized copper hoodie on their website and immediately fell in love. It’s so thick and cozy and finally makes me understand why so many uni kids wear hoodies and sweatpants to school. I ain’t hating.

Oh but we didn’t stop there with this whole athleisure look, oh no. No sporty look is complete without leggings. I recently got these leggings from Lotus Leggings and I’m obsessed. They’re making me love leggings again (you might have noticed I neverwear leggings on ze blog). They are made of the comfiest polyester spandex blend and suck everything in. Plus, they’re super thick and black so they’re never going to be sheer in places like other cheap leggings might! And how cute are the mesh cutouts? They actually serve a practical purpose for increased air flow while you’re working out, but all I know is that they add adorable detail to my outfit. (I think this is a sign I should start working out).
