The First Sneakers of Spring

I love that first day of Spring (Canadian Spring I mean, actual Spring started a month ago, whoops) when you can finally put your boots away and pull out a pair of sneakers. My step always feels lighter and it gives me a renewed burst of energy to take on the world. I just want to skip around everywhere with a big smile on my face, y’know? Boy, I love Spring.

But there’s one week between me and this thing I call Spring. And that is final exams. I have two finals left. One on Monday and one on Thursday. And then, I will never have to pick up a pen again. That’s a slight exaggeration. I’ll never have to sit in a classroom again. That’s also a slight exaggeration. I’ll probably go back and get my MBA. But until then, I will be living in the ignorant bliss of thinking that just because my undergrad is finished, I’ll never have to go to school again.Knowing me, I’ll probably do a whole post on how I feel about graduating so I won’t take any more time away from my outfit today talking about it so stay tuned for that!

So back to sneakers. My brother got me these Converse for my birthday back in March but alas the snow decided to stick around past its welcome so I didn’t get a chance to wear them until now! These are theChuck TaylorAll StarMono Glam Low Tops in Pale Grey and Gold(they also come in a navy and a pink) ! Wowza, that’s one hell of a long name for a sneaker. But these beauties are worthy of a long name. I haven’t owned a pair of Converse in YEARS (for a good laugh, check out these #ootd’s from a million years ago here and herefeaturing my last pairs of Converse). So I decided it was about time I got a new pair. And these are gorgeous. They’re the most beautiful cool grey with gold accents and they’re monochrome so they don’t have that obnoxious white sole. But don’t worry, I have an obnoxious white soul. That was probably the best joke I’ve ever made. That was one for the books.

So pair with my sneakers, I went with a v sporty look if I do say so myself. I’ve been wearing this Scotch and Soda bomber jacket constantly because it’s just so easy and effortless to throw over a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. i especially love this one because it has a few extra details like the ruching on the sleeves and the cinched waistband with the oversized fit to make it a bit more stylish than your average bomber jacket that may or may not be the epitome of a basic white girl. Don’t take offence to that. I am your basic white girl.
