When the Covergirl Blast Flipsticks first came out, I was skeptical of the hype. I didn’t see what was so special about them. I viewed them as one end being a plain lipstick and the other end an overly shimmery, frosty mess. But boy, was I wrong.
I picked up one in the color Perky and I just started using it a few days ago. To start off with, I love the consistency. They are somewhere in between a regular Covergirl lipstick and a Revlon lipbutter. They have the texture of a tinted lip balm with the pigmentation of a lipstick. Brilliant? Yes, yes it is.
I immediately loved the bright hot pink end of this stick but I was a bit hesitant to try the shimmery pink lipstick. I have a phobia of this shade ever since a couple years ago when I though pale frosted lips were in. Yeah, it wasn’t a good look. However, this shade is different. When layered over the bright pink, it gives a gorgeous sheen and shine. This can be placed all over the lips or just in the center to give extra pout and a fuller look. This shade gives the look of placing a lip gloss over your lipstick when in reality, it’s just layering lipsticks. It’s quite a cool concept.
This Flipstick is marketed as having a bunch of endless looks in one product and I think they definitely achieved that. Both ends are completely wearable on their own but equally was fun when paired together. I like it. I like it a lot.
