Now that I have graduated form university with my Bachelor of Commerce degree, it’s time I start dressing the part. And that means investing in a ton of business casual wear. However, I’m not going to be one of those business women in all black and polished pieces. That just ain’t me. I gotta find a way to work my personal style into my business outfits. So throughout the years, I’ve started to pick up unique pieces that I can wear both casually on my day-offs and also work into my workplace outfits!
One of those pieces is this dusty rose blazer from Zara. First of all, this colour just screams me. It’s the most beautiful shade. Second, I love the shape. The collarless neckline and slightly oversized fit makes the blazer more casual while the shoulder pads and double breasted gold buttons makes the blazer still professional enough for the workplace. Third, I got this blazer on clearance for twenty bucks. Definitely a win on my part.
However, on this day, I was definitely not dressing for a work environment. I decided to dress down this blazer for the ultimate chill, casual look while still appearing put-together. First step: boyfriend jeans or straight leg jeans. I absolutely love the look of baggier jeans (don’t go toobaggy though) with oversized blazers but make sure to tuck in whichever shirt you’re wearing so you can still have a defined waist. I wore this white tee from Abercrombie and then threw on this vintage western belt. Second step: I also mixed a bunch of metals today in this look to also make the look more casual. That included wearing a couple of dainty chain chokers in gold and silver and then mix n’ matching the silver belt with the gold buttons on the blazer! And lastly, third step: the shoes are always important. Sneakers would also fit the casual vibes of this outfit but I opted for my beloved mules from Forever 21. These match everything. Oakley agrees. And voila! The easiest casual outfit that you can transition easily into the workplace when you see fit!
