I couldn’t be more beach ready even if I tried. I feel like I should be off on a yacht somewhere drinking mimosas and livin’ life. But instead, I’m sitting in my PJs in boring ol’ Edmonton counting down the days until I can be sitting on a beach in Mexico instead. I’m pretty sure I’ve referenced my Mexico trip in my last 10 blog posts. I’m real excited if you couldn’t tell. I leave in two weeks which feels both very soon and very far away at the same time.
I recently got this dress from C’est Moi and I’m obsessed. It’s a play on the classic shirtdress… with a twist. This dress has two different striped patterns on each side with a wrap tie on the waist and the cutest back cutout that not only makes the dress so much cuter but also adds for a little airflow in those hot summer months! I have a feeling this is going to be my go-to dress ALL summer and you better believe it’s going to be coming with me to Mexico as well.
I had so much fun styling this dress with cute summer accessories like this adorable hat! Straw hats are a very important necessity in the summer. I find my scalp burns like crazy whenever I’m out in the sun so I really wanted to find the cutest hat this year! I stumbled across this Brixton Joanna one and instantly fell in love with it. Brixton is one of the best hat companies out there in my opinion and it’s actually the same brand as my baker boy hat (ootd here)! I have the world’s smallest head so it’s always really hard to find hats that fit me, but Brixton makes their hats in size XS so they actually fit my noggin! However, they can be a little pricy so I’m definitely going to be taking good care of this one. Let’s pray it doesn’t float away in the ocean in Mexico.
I also recently got these sandals at Forever 21 and they serve as the perfect pop of mustard in all my outfits. They’re a suede yellow three strap sandal that are super simple and surprisingly comfy! Definitely not a beach sandal however since they are suede and will probably be stained by dirt in a week. Oh well, they were cute while they lasted.
