Schwartzkopf Professional BC BONACURE

THere’s just something about new hair products that when I use them, I just feel like I got my shit together. Like you know that feeling when you use the matching shampoo, conditioner, mask, oil, serum, the whole shebang? You just feel like your hair is so healthy and you’re thriving in the adulting part of your life. And so, when this box of the new BC BONACURE hair care collection came from Schwarzkopf, I was more than ready to try it out and feel like the best possible version of me. An exaggeration? Probably, but also probably not.

The BC BONACURE line is a collection of targeted hair care that is powered by skin care inspired ingredients and effective technologies. Just the sounds of that excites me. If I’m using the best possible skincare, then I want the same level of that for my hair. You can find ingredients like peptides (to restore strength and elasticity), hyaluronic acid (to deliver moisture and shine), collagen (to provide volume and fullness) and keratin (which is very nourishing and smoothing) in the BC BONACURE products.

There’s six sub-lines to the BC BONACURE range and those include the PH4.5 Color Freeze for colored hair, the Peptide Repair Rescue for damaged hair, the Hyaluronic Moisture Kick for dry hair, the Q10+ for aging hair, the Collagen Volume Boost for fine hair and lastly the Keratin Smooth Perfect for frizzy hair. Honestly all six of those lines seem suited for me but the one that I tried out from the BC BONACURE range is the Peptide Repair Rescue. This line contains peptides that refill and re-build the hair cortex to restore strength and elasticity. That sounds real nice, huh?

There’s six products in the Peptide Repair Rescue and I’m in love with… ALL OF THEM. Well, almost all of them but we will get to that. First, let’s talk about the shampoo. I think I am always the most picky about shampoos. They gotta cleanse my hair thoroughly while also adding volume and making it shiny. Luckily, the Nourishing Micellar Shampoo does all that because it’s indeed a micellar shampoo. The micellar properties help to cluster and gently lift dirt, oil and impurities so it feels super clean without being stripped of it’s moisture. The conditioner is quite nice too bycocooning each strand (ooooh) to immediately improve elasticity whilst ensuring a healthy, smooth feel. However, it’s not quite moisturizing enough for me so that’s where the mask comes in. The Deep Nourishing Treatmentensures an intensive and long-lasting nourishing effect, even after the first usage while smoothing rough and damaged strands. I love to use this mask once or twice a week as an extra treatment for my hair!

Although in-shower products are great, I’m usually more excited about the post-shower products and lucky for me, the Peptide Repair Rescue line has THREE different ones. The first is the Spray Conditioner AKA a leave-in conditioner. It’s a bi-phase formula with half oil and water so itgives a ton of moisture and also makes detangling a breeze! The next product is the Nutri-Shield Serum that protects the hair from heat up to 230°C and seals the hair surface, adds shine and improves manageability of hair! Lastly, the Sealed Ends balm is the only product I don’t fully love but I am trying my best to. It is supposed toseal and nourish porous hair ends, prevents breakage and splitting while taming frizz and controlling unruly hair. Sounds like something I would love, right? And I do believe it does all these things however whenever i put it on my ends, no matter how little I put on, my hair turns into a greasy mess and all the strands of hair stick together. It ain’t cute. But we’re working on it and I’m determined to find a way around it. Other than that, I absolutely love the BC BONACURE Peptide Repair Rescue line and it makes me feel like a million bucks, whoohoo!
