Joico HydraSplash Haircare

Happy self-isolation day 12!! Two weeks in and we’re going strong!! Just kidding. You don’t even know how many times I’ve cried over nothing and how many times I’ve cried over actual problems. Add those two up and I’m surprised there’s even a single time when I’m not crying. But in all seriousness, don’t be too hard on yourself right now. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed and anxious and stressed. This is something we’ve never experienced and never thought we would experience. It’s uncharted waters so it’s only normal we would feel unsettled right now.

But I’m back again on ze blog trying to take your mind off all that with a new haircare review! This is the new HydraSplash line from Joico and it’s literally made for me. I mean, not literally, but you get the point. As I’ve said before on ze blog, I have really fine, flat hair but my scalp is also extremely dry thanks to these Albertan winters. This is a horrible combo because whenever I use a thick, moisturizing, nourishing shampoo/conditioner combo, it weighs down my hair like you wouldn’t believe. So when I heard that this HydraSplash was specifically made for dry AND fine hair, I was shocked. Does this mean other people have these same problems?! Apparently!

The HydraSplash line is is designed to provide 24-hour hydration to thoroughly replenish moisture, shine, and softness without weighing hair down. Who doesn’t want that?! The range consists of a shampoo, conditioner, mask and a leave-in treatment. Simple and uncomplicated, I like that. Does anyone else get confused when there’s so many different steps to a haircare routine? I have enough skincare products to put on everyday, I can’t be spending that same amount of time on haircare.

The Hydrating Shampoo ($17.50USD/$17.99CAD) is pretty basic in my opinion, but not in a bad way. It thoroughly cleanses my hair without drying out my scalp or strands. The Hydrating Conditioner ($18.50USD/$18.99CAD) is similar in that way as well as it does what it’s supposed to do (I’m not really selling these products, hey?). But, the real stand-out product in this line is the HydraSplash Hydrating Gelee Mask ($21.50USD/$26.99CAD). This is unlike any hair mask I’ve ever tried. Instead of a thick, dense cream mask, this one is a cooling, lightweight gel formula. I love applying this all over my hair, even on my scalp. It is so hydrating yet doesn’t weigh down my hair at all. It’s perfection.

There’s also a Replenishing Leave-In Treatment ($21.50USD/$23.99CAD) that helps to reduce frizz while also boosting shine and softness. And once again, it’s super lightweight but successfully tames my static-y, dry strands. And one of the best things about this line? It smells so dang good. It’s such a shame to use hair products that don’t smell good. I just love a scent that lingers in your hair. Such a fresh and clean feeling, you know?
