Summer is HERE (and hopefully here to stay). But is it just me or is summer passing by super quickly already? I can’t even fathom the fact that it’s going to be July in less than a week. And then it will be August. It was recently announced that it is planned that I will be going back to the office at the start of August. Yup, you heard that right. No more working from home. I have such mixed feelings about that. On one hand, I’m super excited to see all of my coworkers and get out of the house more and get to wear all my pretty outfits, but on the other hand, I have to leave the house. All the flexibility in my schedule will be gone. But I do think the positives outweigh the negatives here.
Speaking of getting to wear all my pretty outfits to the office, this is definitely one I will be rocking once I’m back (swapping the jeans for dress pants of course). So, it was recently the Clientele sale at Aritzia, meaning everything was either 20% or 25% off. For an Aritzia lover, that’s a deadly thing. I tried to stay within a budget, I really did. But dang, there are some super cute pieces right now. And if you combine that with knowing that I will be back in the office in just a mere four weeks, I really couldn’t say no to picking up a few new pieces so I can return to the office in style. I’ll also be starting in-person MBA classes so there’s really double the reason to look extra cute and fashionable! I can’t wait to show you what I picked up over these next couple of months on ze blog (yes, there is indeed that many items)!
This is the Wilfred Tempest Blouse from Aritzia and it’s a piece I have been wanting for a while now. It’s a gorgeous cropped blouse with a smocked bodice, ruffled hem and sheer long sleeves. It’s made out of the most beautiful crepe-like chiffon and has a high neckline which I absolutely love! It’s available in an array of colours and prints but I fell in love with this particular one! It features a lavender and beige leaf (feather?) print that is so summery and feminine. It’s perfection. And I love this top so much that I may or may not have picked it up in a second pattern. Stay tuned to ze blog to see which other one I got! Oh- and I would recommend sizing up in this top if you have a larger chest! I am consistently an XS at Aritzia but picked up a small in this one!
I went the more casual route with this blouse today although I am looking forward to the day that I can wear it with dress pants and a blazer to work. But this time I paired it with a classic pair of blue (skinny) jeans. I don’t know what it is about these jeans but I have been wearing them constantly since I got them. They’re called the Olivia Exposed Fly denim from Citizens of Humanity and they’ve quickly become my favorite pair of jeans. They’re a thick, non-stretch denim that are high waisted. I would still consider them a skinny jean yet they are a bit more relaxed around the ankle than your typical skinny jeans. They’re almost like a straight leg jean from the calf down.
For accessories, I toned them down a bit to really let the top shine. I’m wearing my tan mules from Forever 21. Speaking of Forever 21, isn’t it wild they’re opening up in Canada again? I was quite shocked to hear the news. I’m curious if it’s going to be the same sort of vibes or if it’s going to be a whole new brand. Here’s hoping they try to move away from their fast-fashion ways. I also added some sparkly earrings since my hair was up in a low bun. Can’t keep it too boring! And last but definitely not least, we have my beloved Coach Pillow Tabby Shoulder Bag (size 26) in the Ivory/Brass colour. Would you be interested in a full review centered around this bag? I have a lot of thoughts on it (mostly good but some bad). Let me know!
