I have become quite the fan of daily spf use. I can’t believe there was ever a time when I didn’t put sunscreen on my face every single day. And up until now, I’ve been extremely loyal to the Rovectin Skin Essentials Aqua Soothing UV Protector (review here). I’ve gone through countless tubes of this wonderful stuff and didn’t think I would stop anytime soon. However, my friend recently got back from Korea and brought me this Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sun Cream ($28USD/$39CAD) which apparently is all the rage there right now.
I never thought another sunscreen could beat out the consistency of my beloved Rovectin UV Protector, but this Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sun Cream does. The formulation is incredible. It’s extremely lightweight, absorbs in quickly, not sticky and has no scent. It also doesn’t leave a white cast like so many American sunscreens seem to. And, furthermore, it’s sole purpose isn’t just to protect your face from the sun. It is also an amazing moisturizer. It contains hyaluronic acid to lock in hydration while smoothing and plumping your skin as well as amino acids, minerals and Birch Tree Sap to form a barrier to protect your skin from drying and prevent a loss of hydration. It also has niacinamide to decrease any pigmentation and reduce redness and inflammation. I just love a dual-purpose sunscreen!
There’s just one problem. Although it’s supposedly good for all skin types and specifically sensitive skin, my face has not been happy with this sunscreen. I’ve been using it for just over a month now and my skin has been breaking out like crazy. Now, as with any new skincare product being introduced into the routine, it’s always hard to tell what is causing the breakouts. I am well aware it could be totally unrelated and the change in weather or change in routine could be the main culprit, so I will keep you posted and let you know if my skin continues to break out. It could also be entirely possible that this sunscreen is just a little too moisturizing for my skin. I tend to have a combination skin type on the verge of being oily so I think you have drier skin, this sunscreen could be perfect for you! But, all in all, if it turns out that this sunscreen isn’t causing my breakouts, I’m a huge fan because everything else about it is perfect!

Hello there, I wanted to know if you’re still having breakouts using this sunscreen. I’ve been using this for two weeks and it made my skin even more dry and also got so many breakouts on my forehead. I’m not too sure if the issue here is this sunscreen or anything else! Can you please share your experience up untill now?
Thanks so much!
