Okay, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I really don’t want to start off this post by talking about my wedding again. But if I’m being honest, it’s all I’m thinking about at this point. My whole health and beauty routine is revolving around getting wedding-ready. I believe I mentioned it before on ze blog but I’m making the brave choice to do my own hair and makeup on the big day. And while I feel like I have a pretty good handle on my hair and makeup skills, I need my skin and hair to be the absolute healthiest they can be.

Usually, my hair is pretty healthy. I don’t dye it. I don’t use too much heat on it. For the most part, I take good care of it. But then, I made the mistake of getting a haircut in January, which turned out to be disastrous and much shorter than I wanted. Since then, growing my hair as fast as possible has been the main priority in my life (okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration).

And that’s where BUR BUR comes in. Their Growing Season lineup is designed to support all things hair growth and more importantly, hair health. I was sent three of their products to try out, including the BUR BUR Growing Season Deep Repair Mask, the BUR BUR Growing Season Burdock Hair Growth Oil, and lastly, the BUR BUR Growing Season Derma Roller. These three pair so beautifully together and are the perfect starter pack to launch any hair growth journey.

Let’s talk about the BUR BUR Growing Season Hair Oil ($79CAD) first because this is probably the standout product. This oil is a pre-shower treatment. Once or twice a week, you can apply the oil to dry hair prior to shampooing. I focus on massaging the product into my scalp and usually leave it on for a couple of hours. It’s recommended to leave the product on for at least 45 minutes, but the longer, the better! You then shampoo and condition as normal. Because I have finer hair, I opt for a double shampoo to ensure I remove the oil (without stripping it of course!).

It contains a wonderful combination of Burdock Oil, Nettle Oil, Vitamin C, Bakuchiol as well as Amaranth, Quinoa, and Rice Proteins to boost scalp circulation, nourish and strengthen hair follicles, stimulate collagen production while balancing oil production and promoting stronger, fuller hair growth. It’s definitely one of those products that you have to use consistently to see results but I’ve definitely noticed the baby hairs around my face starting to fill in. I’ve also been sharing this hair oil with my mom and she’s obsessed as well! And trust me, that means a lot because my mom is one picky lady!

To pair beautifully with the Growing Season Hair Oil is the Growing Season Derma Roller ($48CAD). I have been wanting to add a derma roller into my haircare routine so I was super excited to give this one a try! It contains hundreds of tiny titanium needles that you roll across the scalp (horizontally and vertically) to create tiny little micro-punctures in the scalp to assist with product absorption and scalp stimulation. I found it to be super gentle without any irritation.

And the last product in the Growing Season lineup is the BUR BUR Growing Season Deep Repair Mask ($65CAD). If there’s one constant in my haircare routine, it’s always a good hair mask. I can’t live without one. And this Deep Repair Mask is an especially good one! It contains a variety of plant proteins, botanical butters, and restorative oils to not only deeply condition the hair but also help make it stronger and more resilient. It repairs any damage from heat and styling while strengthening the hair to prevent breakage and split ends. I found my hair to be so soft and shiny after using it, with reduced frizz!

And this review can’t be ended without talking about how gorgeous the packaging is! I’m a sucker for good and aesthetic packaging and BUR BUR has definitely hit the mark with this one. The chocolate brown and earthy tones with the minimalist cardboard boxes? Perfection if I do say so myself. Overall, the entire line feels very elevated and luxurious, from the formulas right down to the branding and packaging. They also have a Growing Season Shampoo and Conditioner that I would love to try out one day. If you’re currently on your own healthy hair journey, I would definitely recommend checking out the whole Growing Season lineup!
