I am such a sucker for all the gift sets that come out around the holidays. I remember that always used to be my (only) favorite part about working at Shoppers Drug Mart in December. There were just many new and cool things at such a good price and in such pretty packaging! What’s not to love? And this Bite Beauty Starlit Succulents Agave+ Lip Care Set is no exception. The moment I saw it at Sephora, I knew I had to have it. And everyone else must have thought the exact same thing because this set sold out hella fast after it went on sale. It is a $32 value and was originally $30CAD and then was marked down to $15 and then I had a 10% off coupon so I got it for a whopping $13.50. I know, I know, I keep telling you guys I should be on Extreme Couponers. Now you can see why.
This set contains 3 deluxe-sized minis of their three most popular lip products: a 9.5 gram Agave+ Weekly Vegan Lip Scrub, a 5 gram Agave+ Intensive Vegan Lip Mask, and a 7 gram Agave+ Nighttime Vegan Lip Therapy. They’re all really good decent sizes in my opinion! It usually takes me forever to get through lip products as you only use a little bit every night so I have a feeling these will last me a solid six months! Okay, maybe that was an exaggeration. Let’s aim for three months.
Which of these three shall we talk about first? So many options, so little time. Just kidding, we have all the time in the world right now. Let’s start with the Agave+ Weekly Vegan Lip Scrub (full size= 20g, $29CAD/$22USD). I have to admit I’m not the biggest fan of lip scrubs. It’s not because they don’t work well or do their job, I just always seem to forget that they exist. I should use one, I really should, but I often find that a warm washcloth scrubbed against your lips does the same thing in less time and is significantly less messy. However, if you’re a lip scrub type of gal/gent, I think you will really like this one. It’s a three-in-one lip scrub that cleanses, exfoliates, and conditions for smooth, soft lips. Fair-Trade Golden Sugar exfoliates away rough patches, while Papaya Enzymes ac as an enzymatic exfoliant to help melt away flakes. And last, Plant-Derived Squalane mimics the lip’s own moisture, and helps hydrate. Plus, it has a delicious vanilla flavor so you can lick your lips all you want (after all it is just sugar and a few other ingredients).
The next product is the Agave+ Nighttime Vegan Lip Therapy (full size= 15g, $32CAD/$26USD). I’m usually not the biggest fan of lip balms in jars because I hate having to use my finger to apply them (especially now in COVID central) but I figured I would make an exception for this one. It’s a hydrating lip sleeping balm in a decadent balm-to-oil formula. It’s quite thick when you first apply it but I find it really absorbs into the lips while you sleep so you wake up with more supple, moisturized lips. It also smells delicious with a chamomile-bergamot scent that is sure to put you right to sleep (because it’s relaxing, not because it’s boring). The Agave Nectar helps to soothe and nurture, while Pomegranate Extract provides antioxidant benefits and helps to nourish the lips. Jojoba, Sunflower, and Safflower Seed Oils work together to help seal in moisture all night long.
And last but not least, we have the Agave+ Intensive Vegan Lip Mask (full size= 15g, $34CAD/$26USD). Your lips are really going to thank you after this. You better go kiss some boys to make it all worth it. Just kidding, it’s still a pandemic out there. Go kiss your dog instead. Oakley the Goldendoodle is the only boy that deserves it. Anyways, I have been on the hunt for a new lip mask for a while now ever since I discovered my Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask was making the edges of my lips breakout. Not cute, y’all. This intensive lip mask comes in a tube and is incredibly thick. Afterall, it is a lip mask. This is such a miracle product for when you have super dry, chapped lips that are on the verge of splitting open and bleeding. Because it’s so thick, it is incredibly soothing. However, it is a little stickier than I would like but I am willing to let that go. Agave Nectar (of course) helps to soothe and nurture the lips while both Mangosteen and Açaí Extract that are rich in antioxidants and nutrients help to keep the lips moisturized all day and night.
