Oopsie. In true Taylor fashion (speaking of Taylor, Happy Taylor Swift day!! Do we love the new Midnights album?!), I am just now getting around to writing this post. It’s almost the end of October and you can probably tell that this hasn’t been an outfit that has gotten any wear since the summer (although it has been strangely warm for an October in Edmonton lately). But alas, here am I writing about my very outdated summer outfit.
I am quite simply obsessed with linen sets. I think my past three outfits on ze blog have featured some sort of linen piece and we are continuing that trend right here, right now. For starters, the shorts. Not only were these the same linen shorts I wore in my last outfit post, they were also my most worn pair of shorts all summer. They are the Wilfred Fable Linen 5″ shorts in Natural Ecru from Aritzia. They’re not 100% linen, instead, they’re a blend of 66% TENCEL™ Lyocell and 34% linen keeping them lightweight and breathable. The top matches the shorts perfectly (not a coincidence as it’s also from Aritzia). It is the Gelato Linen shirt also in the Natural Ecru colour. The only difference between this top and the shorts is that it’s made of 100% linen instead of the linen blend the shorts are crafted from but honestly I can’t tell a difference between the two fabrics! The two pair perfectly together to create the most effortless outfit even on the hottest and sweatiest of days (I am desperately missing summer as I write this).
Now let’s talk about my backpack. I have been wanting a new small-ish backpack for ages now. I used to have this amazing brown one (see here and here) but the strap started ripping (RIP literally) and I retired it. Since then, I’ve been trying to decide what backpack I wanted to replace that one. And then I stumbled across this Longchamp Le Pliage Club Nylon backpack at Holt Renfrew in the most gorgeous mustard yellow colour. I absolutely love (and wear) my OG Le Pliage tote to death so I knew it was time to invest in another Longchamp. And it’s been the most perfect backpack ever since. It’s durable, it’s lightweight, it holds so much and it’s cute! I really can’t ask for anything more.
And to end out the look, I had to add a few accessories of course. I added this statement pair of earrings that I picked up when I was in Mexico recently (I LOVE earrings in Mexico, they’re always so wild and fun) as well as some sunnies from Urban Outfitters that I got for the said Mexico trip. They’re basic, cheap and cute. Once again, I really can’t ask for anything more.
