Keys Soulcare: Some New Additions To The Line

Keys Soulcare review

Keys Soulcare made it’s debut in Canada a couple of years ago (check out my post from when it first launched) and I feel like the brand has remained fairly underrated. The line was developed by miss Alicia Keys, but I truly believe that it’s so much more than just another celebrity beauty brand. It takes me a long time to absolutely love a skincare brand. Because of this blog, I’ve been blessed to try out countless skincare lines and most, unfortunately, underperform. However, Keys Soulcare is really one of the exceptions to that. All of the products I’ve tried in the line are gentle, yet effective. And, that is the winning combination in a skincare line.

As an unofficial part two to my first Keys Soulcare review a couple years ago, I was recently sent five more products from the line and I’m so excited to talk about them today! The first is the Keys Promise Serum ($45CAD/$28USD). This is a unique serum that you don’t always see in skincare lineups. Not only does it contain the typical Niacinamide for brightening the skin as well as glycerin for hydrating the skin, but it also contains zinc PCA to control excess oil and reduce the appearance of pores. Now, this is quite revolutionary for someone like me who needs both a ton of hydration (I do live in Alberta after all), but also has oily skin (that I still haven’t grown out of). Sometimes hydrating serums can be a bit too much for my skin and make it too glowy throughout the day, so I really love that this product helps control oil for a balanced, healthy-looking complexion.

The next product also has a dropper style applicator but it’s an oil instead of a serum. The Keys Deeply Replenishing Squalane Facial Oil ($56CAD/$35USD) contains a blend of both pomegranate seed oil and prickly pear oil in addition to Squalane to effectively hydrate and replenish the skin. The pomegranate seed oil serves as an antioxidant and is rich in omega 5 and vitamin E while the prickly pear oil is rich in both fatty acids and nutrients. They work together to improve the skin’s hydration while also giving it a radiant glow! I love that this specific facial oil is on the lighter side with a non-greasy feel. And it doesn’t clog pores so it’s perfect for even acne-prone skin like my own!

Now, with any good oil and serum, you also need a moisturizer to pair with them and that’s where this Keys Firm Belief Smoothing Peptide Cream comes in ($64CAD/$40USD). I know I keep mentioning it, but I am 6 months away from entering my thirties and the inclusion of anti-aging properties is something I always look for in my face creams now. And luckily, this Keys cream contains a 5 Peptide Complex to improve fine lines and wrinkles, while Fermented Astalagus Extract (an adaptogenic herb) helps improve the feel of skin’s firmness. And lastly, Snow Mushroom helps to hydrate and moisturize. The combo of ingredients results in a lovely lightweight cream that promotes firmer, smoother skin.

Next is the Keys Harmony Mask ($48CAD/$30USD) which gets it’s deep dark colour from charcoal and a hint of gold foil to give it some *shimmer*. The Activated Charcoal helps to thoroughly purify and balance the skin. It also contains Manuka Honey which is rich in antioxidants and helps to nourish and moisturize the skin. I let the mask sit on my face for up to 20 minutes until it’s mostly dry and then remove it with a damp towel and rinse off any residue. My skin is left feeling clean, clarified and refreshed!

And the last product is definitely one of my Keys favorites of all time! It’s the Comforting Tinted Lip Balm ($29CAD/$18USD) in shade Manifestation. I love a good tinted lip balm and this one has found it’s way into my daily makeup routine. It’s the most gorgeous sheer bright coral that gives my face that lil pop of colour to waken it up! The lip balm itself is so silky and smooth. It contains a lovely blend of Camellia Seed Oil, Shea Butter and Castor Seed Oil to intensely moisturize and sooth dry lips. Sometimes I find that tinted lip balms are nowhere near as moisturizing as your regular drugstore clear balms, but that isn’t the case with this one. I find it’s so nourishing and feels (and looks!) beautiful on the lips.

Also, I just saw Keys Soulcare has now expanded their lineup to makeup (beyond the tinted lip balm) as well?! It’s only available in the US for right now, but you best believe I’ll be trying it out the second it comes to Canada!
