In typical Taylor fashion, this post is long overdue. Are we really surprised? No, no we are not. As I’ve said countless times on the blog before, the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara ($25USD/$33CAD) is one of my holy grail mascaras. It easily falls into my top 5 favorite mascaras of all time, if not the ultimate number one. So, when Benefit added something to their Roller line, my expectations were at an all time high. Until… I heard it was a liquid liner.

If you’ve ever tried the Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner ($24USD/$32CAD), you know exactly why I was scared to try another liner from Benefit. I think it’s safe to say that liner may have been one of Benefit’s biggest fails to date. When that liner was discontinued, I think we all breathed a big sigh of relief. But now there’s a new Benefit liner on the block and this one ain’t messing around.

This is a DAMN good liquid liner. I’ve tried a few liquid liners in my lifetime (a few of my faves include Clarins Graphik Ink Liner, Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner, and the Lancome Grandiose Liner), but the Benefit Roller Liner ($22USD/$30CAD) has officially become my favorite liquid liner. Quite impressive to go from one Benefit liquid liner and hate it and try their new one and absolutely love it. Benefit needs to be a lil’ more consistent in their products.

So what about the Benefit Roller Liner makes it so much better than it’s competitors? Let’s start with the obvious makings of a good liquid liner. It has a super sharp, precise felt tip point that doesn’t dry out. It draws such a smooth line (without tugging or pulling or skipping) and I find it’s just firm enough to have a good amount of control for creating the perfect wing. Eyeliner on fleek, y’all. It also has one hell of a good formula. It’s a super matte, black formula that doesn’t look shiny or glossy on the eyelid so it creates a very classic winged liner look. It’s gorgeous. Plus, it’s fully waterproof and won’t smudge throughout the day. I have oily eyelids (cute) so it’s extremely important for me to find a liquid eyeliner that won’t smudge throughout the day (a lot of other liners do, *cough cough Clarins*).

And as a quick overview for those of you who might not have read my previous post on the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara, let’s quickly go through the reasons why exactly it’s my favorite mascara. First of all, the brush is absolutely amazing. It has these “Hook n’ Roll” bristles that catches on to each individual eyelash and lifts and curls them as your brush the wand through. It creates so much definition between each lash. Not a clump in sight. Plus the formula keeps the lashes perfectly curled for 12 hours and adds so much length! It just makes my lashes look flawless.

I agree, this eyeliner is a-ma-zing!! I also have a sample of the mascara but I’m not sure yet if I will try it or give it to a friend, as I only use waterproof mascaras.
