OGX Smoothing + Liquid Pearl Haircare

I think OGX is one of the few drugstore hair brands that I am a firm believer of. I usually like my more high-end haircare (like Kerastase) but for the price of OGX in the drugstore, it really can’t be beat. I’ve tried some different lines from OGX in the past (see review here) and absolutely loved them so I was super pumped to try their newest range, the Smoothing + Liquid Pearl shampoo ($8.99USD/$10.99CAD) and conditioner ($8.99USD/$10.99CAD).

Smoothing and Liquid Pearl? That’s right up my alley. I have super fine hair that gets very frizzy so any line that promises to smooth the frizz is bound to be popular in my books. And who doesn’t want shiny hair with a pearl lustre? Yeah, exactly. This Smoothing + Liquid Pearl line contains sea kelp and pearl extracts to smooth the strands and add in a ton of shine. It basically turns you into Ariel. Tail and all.

So let’s discuss exactly WHY I love OGX haircare so much. Yes, this line does make your hair extremely smooth and non-frizzy and adds a good amount of shine to my strands but that’s not all. It’s also incredibly moisturizing. There’s something about the shampoo and conditioner that just works so well together. The shampoo cleanses my scalp fully and makes my hair feel so clean. But it also doesn’t irritate my scalp. I’ve learned that I have a very sensitive scalp that gets itchy and irritated if I don’t use gentle products. And the conditioner gives my hair the perfect balance of moisture and volume. It doesn’t weigh down my hair yet it makes my hair feel soft and healthy. I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about these products. Plus, it makes my hair smell good. Which is one of the most important selling factors of any shampoo or conditioner for me. Just saying.
