Full Face Look with Suzanne Somers

To be honest, I live under a rock and I had zero clue who Suzanne Somers was until I decided to participate in this campaign and check out her extremely successful skincare and beauty line, Suzanne Organics. However, when I casually mentioned it to my mom, she immediately knew who I was talking about and she was so excited to try out the line alongside me! My mom has raised me to have the mindset that organic and natural ingredients are always better, especially in skincare and makeup. So I was extremely interested when I learned that all of Suzanne Somers beauty products are made with natural botanical extracts, enzymes, skin-nurturing anti-oxidants, and organic fruits and vegetables. Those are definitely ingredients that I want to be putting on my face.

But even though the products are made with more natural and organic ingredients, the quality and effectiveness of the products definitely don’t suffer or fade in comparison. I was still extremely impressed with almost every single product I tried out from the brand!

Let’s start with the face products first. The Suzanne Organics Sheer Flawless Foundation is an absolutely beautiful texture. I have been looking for a more lightweight foundation for the summer and this one definitely fit the bill. It also has a glowy, radiant finish that makes my skin look less textured and more smooth! I am wearing the shade Porcelain Light and although it did seem to oxidize quite a bit through the day and get darker, it still matched my skin quite nicely. I had also picked out the Multiple Stick in Sunrise but this was one of the few products that disappointed me. The concept was a cool idea that it can be used for eyes, lips or cheeks but the formula was extremely sheer and hardly showed up on my pale skin. It did act as a nice subtlehighlighter for adding just a hint of glow to my cheekbones.

Overtop of the foundation to add some colour back into my face, I applied the Bronzing Powderand the Contour Kit. The bronzing powder wasn’t too dark which I absolutely loved because my fair skin often has a hard time finding a bronzer that doesn’t look too orangey or fake. This one blended nicely into my skin. The Contour Kit was also a winner. I love wearing the light banana powder on the left underneath my eyes, down the bridge of my nose and on my forehead and chin to add some light back into my face. I lightly dipped my brush into the contour shade and added some to the hollows of my cheek and on the sides of my nose to carve out my face and make it look skinny mini!

For blush, I picked out two shades because I have a major problem making decisions and choosing things (just ask my friends or my boyfriend, they will fully agree). The two shades I ended up choosing are extremely similar, Coral Crush and Caramelized Peach. I bet you can guess what my favorite colour for summer is! In this look, I opted for the Coral Crush and although it looked a bit more nude and tan in the compact, it turned out to be a true coral on my cheeks and I love it! It’s so pigmented and blends out effortlessly on my cheeks. The other shade Caramelized Peach is close to it’s name with more of a bronzed tint to the coral shade! Both shades are absolutely beautiful and perfect for the summer! And to compliment my peachy cheeks, I also opted for a peachy lipstick in the same shade as one of the blushes, Caramelized Peach. Although I thought the colour was pretty, the formula didn’t impress me much. It appeared to be no better than a typical drugstore lipstick.

I was really impressed with Suzanne Somers’ eye products as well! I have been obsessed with cream eyeshadows lately so I definitely wanted to put those to the test. I ordered two in the lightest shades, Mother of Pearl and Pink Quartz. Mother of Pearl is an iridescent white that is the perfect base for any eyeshadow. Pink Quartz is a bit darker with a rosey hue that looks almost like a rose gold on the eye. It’s gorgeous. And although I do love using these as bases under eyeshadows, they also look fantastic patted overtop of eyeshadow in the center of the eyelid to really open up the eyes and make them bigger by adding that touch of shimmer! These do tend to crease a lil’ so make sure to add a heavy duty primer underneath (I recommend the Smashbox 24 hour Primer). I also picked out a powder eyeshadow quad in the shade Gold Shimmer. This palette includes four shimmery golden and taupe shades that called my name as soon as I saw them. I love how the shades are all mid-toned so there isn’t any super dark shades. I used the lightest gold shade as a base colour and then sweeped the two medium shades throughout my crease and lined my top and bottom lash line with the darkest taupe shade! I really loved how the eye look turned out. The shadows blended together effortlessly and looked gorgeous together!
