    Sahajan Essential Cleansing Oil review

If you’ve been following along on ze blog, you may know that I’m on a journey to perfect my skin before my wedding in September. Actually, perfect is the wrong word to use. There’s really no such thing as perfect skin. Ultimately, I just want my skin to be the healthiest and glowiest it can be. I’m not sure if living in Edmonton makes that entirely realistic because, dang, these harsh winters do a number on my skin every year- damage I then spend all summer trying to reverse. But I will keep trying.

Two products from Sahajan are joining me on this journey to glowing skin. Let’s start with the Sahajan Essential Cleansing Oil ($54CAD/$40USD) first, because I’ve been dying to add a cleansing oil into my routine. Yup, that’s right- I’m actually a novice when it comes to cleansing oils. I’ve stuck to micellar waters and the occasional cleansing balm for the past decade. But that’s all changing now.

This Essential Cleansing Oil contains a fortifying blend of Moringa, Squalane and Rose Oils to nourish and balance the skin. I find it effortlessly dissolves all makeup while, more importantly, lifting away sunscreen. I recently learned that sunscreen is actually harder for cleansers to remove than makeup, so that’s a major reason I wanted to incorporate a cleansing oil into my routine. This cleansing oil is also exceptional at nourishing the skin’s lipid barrier and promoting visibly smoother skin without leaving behind any oiliness or residue. I then follow with a water based cleanser (I’ve been loving the Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Cleansing Gel, though Sahajan also has a Golden Milk Cleanser that looks amazing!) to make sure my skin is as clean as possible.

The Sahajan Golden Glow Eye Balm ($52CAD/$70USD) is another essential in my skincare routine. It has a balm-to-oil consistency that feels super dense at first but melts into the most luxurious oil when you apply it to the skin. It contains Ghee to brighten and nourish the eye area while rose oil soothes, tightens and tones tired eyes. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Gotu Kola (otherwise known as our favourite ingredient, Centella) uses its collagen-boosting properties to firm and strengthen the eye area. This eye balm is recommended for nighttime use, likely because it’s oily texture wouldn’t sit well under makeup. However, it’s the perfect eye cream to combat dryness, dark circles, and fine lines while you sleep.

Incorporating these Sahajan products into my skincare routine truly feels like a step in the right direction for wedding-ready, radiant skin. I just want to build a routine that will support my skin through every season, both before and after my wedding. Let’s get that bridal glow!!
