Love Beauty and Planet

This is the newest line to the hit the shelves at drugstores, including my personal fave, Shoppers Drug Mart, and I have been seeing it everywhere! The packaging immediately caught my eye (because y’all know I’m a sucker for packaging) with the bright colours and girly patterns. But this brand is so much more than just pretty packaging. There’s a reason they’re called Love Beauty and Planet. Because the founders love beauty and they love the planet. Doesn’t take a genius to figure that one out. So what does Love Beauty and Planet do that helps the Earth? First, the bottles are 100% recyclable. Next, the conditioners are designed to wash out quickly and not stubbornly so you waste less water trying to get the product out. Third, all ingredients are naturally and responsibly sourced as well as vegan and not tested on animals. And there’s no silicones, parabens or dyes either. And it doesn’t stop there. The scents are all ethically sourced fragrance oils and absolutes. And lastly, they are on a mission to reduce their carbon footprint as well asself-impose a “tax” on the carbon they create while making these products by donating $40 per carbon ton to a Carbon Tax Fund which then supports programs that help to reduce carbon emissions and landfill waste! So yeah, they truly love the planet, y’all.

But let’s jump into the products. So, Love Beauty and Planet make both hair care and body washes. and the body wash scents coincide with the shampoo and conditioner scents which I really love! I don’t know why more companies haven’t done that! I love to be totally enveloped in the same scent head to toe! I got to try out the Coconut Oil and Ylang Ylang Scent which is made in a Tropical Hydration Body Wash and the Hope and Repair hair line, which includes the shampoo, conditioner and a 3-in-1 Benefit Hair Oil!

Now, I’m going to sound like a total hair snob when I say this but I haven’t used drugstore hair products in a while. I’ve been obsessed with some higher end brands so I was a little hesitant to switch back to the lower end of the spectrum. But folks, this brand is no joke. If I didn’t know this was a drugstore brand before I tried it, I would have never guessed! The shampoo and conditioner made my hair feel amazing! The conditioner is so lightweight so it kept a lot of body in my hair but it was still super hydrating and moisturizing so my hair felt nourished and revived. The pre-shampoo oil was equally as nice! You apply this oil throughout your hair before shampooing and then wash it out following with the shampoo and the conditioner and it’s the perfect treatment to add shine and moisture to your hair!

But the body wash is the real star of the show. It’s a super cool texture that’s almost gel-like (like hair gel, I’m talking) and as you rub it along your skin, it foams up real nicely! I loved the way this body wash left my skin! So moisturized and smooth feeling! Plus, like the shampoo and conditioner, it smelled amazing! Then again, anything with coconuts in it, I will be a fan of.
