I feel like I have been reviewing hair care a loton the blog lately, but to be honest, that’s probably for the best. Because clean hair is happy hair. And hopefully by testing out different shampoos and conditioners, I’ll actually be forced to wash my hair instead of resorting to my old friend, dry shampoo. That makes me sound really gross and unhygienic. I’m clean, I swear!
Now that we got that disclosure out of the way, let’s talk about the shampoo and conditioner that I recently tried out! This is the Matrix Biolage Uplift line and it’s specially suited for flat, fine hair. And hey! I have flat, fine hair! What a coincidence! Hence, I was super excited to give these a try and see if they would work wonders for my limp strands of hair. These products are part of the Biolage RAW line which is all about being real, authentic and wholesome by using natural origin ingredients, biodegradable and containing no parabens or silicones!
The Uplift shampoo contains black sesame and grapefruit and I don’t know why, but the combination of those two ingredients was extremely appealing to me. (That was punny, apPEELing, get it? Because it’s a grapefruit. That you need to peel. Please laugh). This shampoo purifies fine, flat hair without stripping it for lightweight body! It lathered up so nicely and made my hair feel healthy and clean. TheUplift conditioner is formulated with kiwi and kaolin clay, which once again just sounds wonderful. It’s making me crave a kiwi right now. This conditioner is super weightless and light so it didn’t weigh down my hair at all but still provided the nourishment it needed.
So did this Biolage RAW Uplift line change my hair for the better? Yes, yes it did. The shampoo and conditioner gave noticeable results and my hair suddenly had the volume I craved. One interesting thing to notice is that this range made my hair a lot more susceptible to being curled. Usually since my hair is so fine, it has trouble holding a curl but after I used these products, my hair surprisingly stayed curled quite nicely- (even when I was getting drunk on Halloween weekend, I really did put these hair products to the test!)
