You know what I just don’t understand? How in the world do I have a midterm in four days? I haven’t even fully settled into this whole“school” thing yet. I’m still in Summer mode. But to help me transition back into school and embrace the Fall weather, I have started to pull out my staple Autumn clothing pieces.
One of my most Autumn pieces would definitely be this big furry vest that I picked up at the end of the season last year. I have been dying to get a fur vest forever, but I could never find one that was a) not tacky and b) not expensive. But Zara seriously has the best fur vests! They can get a lil’ bit pricey so wait till they go on sale like I did! This vest was the perfect layering piece for this kind of weather. It’s too hot to wear a full-on coat but too chilly to just wear a sweater. The vest was an absolute necessity.
I stuck with an all-black outfit underneath the vest. The fur vest is enough of a statement on it’s own so I definitely didn’t want to compete with any of that. Plus, the black provided for a nice contrast with the lighter tones in the vest. My jeans are my staple black denim from Zara. I really need to pick up a new pair this season. They have been worn to death. And my black sweater has been much loved as well. They are both such fantastic basics.
I was way too exited to pull out all my booties again for Fall. If there’s one thing that defines my style, it’s booties. I have way too many pairs but I just can’t help it. They’re all I really wear in Autumn. These are my light tan ones from Old Navy. I still can’t believe I found them at Old Navy for under $20. That will continue to surprise me for the rest of my life. God, I’m dramatic.
And last but DEFINITELY not least, let’s talk about my backpack. Oh lord, do I love this thing. As you may or may not know, Shoppers Drug Mart (where I work for those who don’t know) carries a selection of Canadian designer handbags, but they’re rarely my taste. We cater to a different market than obnoxious twenty-one year old wannabe bloggers. But we recently got in this mini suede backpack. I want to say it was love at first sight, but that’s unfortuantely not the case. I hummed and hawed (what a weird phrase) over it for quite a while before finally deciding to spend my Shoppers Optimum points on it. And I’m so glad I did. It’s quite tiny so I knew it wouldn’t be a practical school backpack, but I figured I could just use it as a person like those stylish bloggers do. But to my surprise, I have also been using it as a backpack for school as well. On the days where I don’t need much, I can easily fit my iPad, a notebook and my S’well waterbottle comfortably in it. It has become on of my favorite bags! Good buy Tay!
