So, I think this will be my last “normal” outfit of the day post on ze blog for the next little while. Now, don’t get mad at me if that doesn’t turn out to be the case but for now it just feels wrong to post cute outfits on ze blog when I haven’t left the house in weeks and mostly live in leggings and hoodies. Plus, I feel as though I am doing a great disservice to you if I’m posting about fancy outfits that just aren’t realistic for this new stay at home/work from home lifestyle. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t be getting dressed up still, but there needs to be an additional comfort aspect thrown in that was often lacking in my outfits from before this pandemic started.
And so, when I was shooting this outfit a couple of weeks ago, I didn’t want you to think that this is actually what I am wearing on a daily basis. Because it’s not. As I said earlier, leggings are my new everyday staple. But, I still wanted to post some fashion content on ze blog so I thought “Hey! Why not doing something fun?!”. I went up to my boyfriend and asked him to pick out an outfit for me. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I gave him a few nudges of what direction he should head with my outfit AKA I wanted to be warm outside and pink and rust are not complimentary colours but for the most part, this outfit was all his doing. And he did a pretty good job, hey?
And as cute as this outfit is, it is surprisingly comfy. These check pants from Aritzia are basically pyjamas pants and the sweater? Oh man, this sweater is one of the best purchases I’ve made ever since COVID-19 happened. I had a coupon from H&M for my birthday for 25% off and it was free shipping, so y’all know I couldn’t resist placing an order. I’ve actually had my eye on this sweater for a while now. First of all, it’s incredibly soft. It’s a fluffy knit (made of 68% Polyamide, 31% Acrylic, 1% Elastane) that makes you think you’re wearing a cloud. Or a kitten. And it’s one of those cute half zip sweaters that makes it seem like the perfect cross between a hoodie and a sweatshirt yet it’s still cute enough to pass for something more. I am sure my coworkers can attest to this, but I’ve worn this sweater on the majority of my Zoom meetings for work. I have become quite the outfit repeater while working from home.
And it wouldn’t be a comfy outfit without this coat thrown over top. This is one of my favorite coats as I’ve said over and over again on ze blog. It’s just the perfect coat. It’s warm but lightweight and oversized enough to make it feel like I’m wearing a blanket wrapped around me. It’s absolute perfection. Speaking of absolute perfection, I recently turned 25 (hello quarter life crisis) and my boyfriend got me this bag for my birthday. This is honestly the bag of my dreams. It’s a gorgeous black leather Michael Kors tote with gold hardware. It’s classic and simple on the outside, yet incredibly functional on the inside. Quite like me, one might say. Nah, I’m kidding. But the bag’s functionality is really what sets it apart from any other tote bag. It has like a total of eleven pockets. I fucking love pockets in bags. It really stops them from becoming giant black holes. Both figuratively and literally. This is truly the perfect bag for both work and school. It has a big padded slot for my laptop as well as ample room for all my papers, lunch and lipsticks. I have my priorities straight, dontcha worry. So, thank you to my cute ass boyfriend for spoiling me!! And picking out this outfit! You’ve outdone yourself.
