I have never been a sporty person. I am notoriously girly. It’s who I am. And because of that, up until 2 months ago, I had never owned a pair of running shoes. You might not believe that. You might be wondering, for example, what I wore for gym shoes. I was that kind of girl who wore Converse and Adidas and Puma slip-ons. I never had a proper pair of running shoes. Please don’t judge me upon that. They just weren’t my thing. I didn’t want to spend money on a pair of shoes that weren’t cute.

But then suddenly, Nike changed my life. They designed the perfect pair of sneakers. The Nike Roshe Runs. My brother first got a pair and then I began seeing them on bloggers everywhere. And then I had the sudden urge to start working out for the first time in my life. But in order to work out, I would need to buy a pair of running shoes. So, that’s exactly what I did. I bought the classic black and white Roshe Runs.

I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve never owned any running shoes before but these ones have changed my life. They’re so comfy and light. They’re perfect. And the fact that I can wear these with outfits other than gym clothes? Even more perfect.

Today I paired them with a fairly casual outfit. I was finally able to dig out my distressed white jeans out of my closet after the long winter. Because I bought these jeans at the beginning of winter, I haven’t had much of a chance to wear them but I have a feeling you’ll be seeing them on my blog all summer. My t-shirt is my Arctic Monkeys band tee that I got at their concert when they performed at Sonic Boom. They are so good live fyi. Probably one of the best bands I’ve ever seen. Overtop, I wore my long, oversized flannel from Noul. This flannel changed my life. There’s nothing comfier than this thing.

So that’s that. If you are like me and have never had a pair of running shoes (or maybe I’m the only one), go out and buy yourself a pair of the Roshe Runs. They will change your life for better or for worse. No, for better. Definitely for better.

P.S. Let’s count the number of times I’ve said“changed my life” in this blog post. Hint, it’s four times. Wow I’m not repetitive at all.
