I am so excited to be sharing some Korean skincare on ze blog today. Wishtrend has always been one of my favorite places to shop for all of my K-Beauty needs and today I get to share four different skincare products that I have been absolutely loving lately! I feel like 2021 has really been the year of skincare. For the past eight months, I have taken exceptional care of my skin and it’s really been showing! Gone are the days when I felt uncomfortable to go outside without makeup on. Now, I look forward to the days where I can go barefaced! And these four products have definitely played a part in that.
Let’s start off this blog post with these two Pear products from I’M FROM. I absolutely love pears (I’m craving one hardcore right now) so the thought of having pears in my skincare really makes me overjoyed. These Pear Soothing Pads ($24USD) are my summer staple currently especially with all of this +30°C weather we have been having lately. Not that I’m complaining, my boyfriend constantly reminds me that I will desperately miss these days once we’re in the dead of winter and the temperature is a whopping 70 degrees colder. Gah. I’m shivering just thinking about it. Anyways, these soothing pads contains 75% of Wild Pear Leaves that help to deliver rich hydration with plant-based hyaluronic acid. The main ingredient of pear is luteolin which offers an immediate cooling and soothing effect. It’s so perfect for sensitive or sunburned skin that needs both cooling and hydration. I use these pads like I would a toner after cleansing. I gently wipe my whole face with one (avoiding the eyes). And, if your skin is extra irritated, you can even leave the pad on your skin, like a face mask, for three minutes. Oh and should probably mention the packaging! I love that they come in a nice jar with a tiny set of plastic tongs to scoop out each individual pad so you don’t spread any bacteria. It’s the little things, y’all.
Pairing (or should I say pearing) perfectly with the Pear Soothing Pads is the Pear Serum ($25USD), also from I’M FROM. This Pear Serum contains 83% Wild Pear Leaves (an even higher concentration than the Pear Soothing Pads). This serum also helps to soothe and calm the skin by forming a protective barrier in order to strength the skin. I absolutely love the texture of this serum (it reminds me of the Vichy Mineral 89 Booster). It has a watery, light texture that is not sticky or heavy at all. It provides a great deal of hydration to my skin and sits well under any moisturizer! And because it pairs so well with the Pear Soothing Pads, Wishtrend offers both products in a set aptly named the Pair the Pear set. I’m happy to see that Wishtrend and I have the same cheesy humour.
Now, let’s turn our attention over to a brand that I actually haven’t tried before: Rovectin. But although it’s new to me, I instantly fell in love with the brand. In addition to being vegan, hypoallergenic, toxin-free, and cruelty-free, it’s also 100% free from parabens, artificial colorants, artificial fragrances, mineral oil, and steroids. I got to try their newest product, the Forever Young Biome Ampoule ($36USD). As I’m entering the later half of my twenties (I’m going to be 27 in just six months), I’m really starting to concentrate on incorporating more and more anti-aging skincare products into my routine. And this Rovectin Forever Young Biome Ampoule fits perfectly with that. Unlike some heavier anti-aging products, this serum is oil-free and has an incredibly light texture. However, don’t be fooled by that. It still provides deep hydration. It has an extensive 7-layer dualbiotic complex made up of 1) Lactobacillus Ferment, 2) Lactobacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract, 3) Bifida Ferment Lysate, 4) Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate & Lactococcus Ferment Lysate, 5) Xylose & Fructooligosaccharides, 6) Anastatica Hierochuntica Extract (Rose of Jericho) and 7) Solanum Melongena (Eggplant) Fruit Extract. In short, these prebiotics and probiotics effectively vitalizes the skin while strengthening the natural moisture barrier from inside out and preserving young skin. It’s one of those products that does a million little things at once and therefore is the perfect anti-aging skincare products for beginners!
And last but definitely not least, we come to one of my favorite products, the BY WISHTREND Pro-Biome Balance Cream ($28USD). I think this truly has the potential to become one of my holy-grail moisturizers. It contains 70% Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate that helps with anti-inflammation as well as moisturizes the skin. In addition, the 10% Propolis Extract (a resin made by honeybees) protects the skin against bacteria and also helps to sooth skin. Lastly, the Pro-Biome Complex helps keep the skin moisturizes and strengthens the skin barrier. Because of the protection against bacteria and anti-inflammatory agents, this cream is truly the perfect moisturizer for acne-prone skin. It also has a lightweight and refreshing texture and helps to keep my oil at bay while also providing my skin with a healthy glow!
