If there’s one thing I love about birthdays, it’s birthday freebies. I am the type of girl who spends the majority of my birthday running around trying to redeem all of the coupons that companies send to celebrate your special day. Starbucks free coffee, Tim Horton’s free breakfast sandwich, Jugo Juice free smoothie, Coco’s free bubble tea- we love it all. But this birthday freebie obsession all started years ago with Sephora’s Beauty Insider birthday gifts. I feel like they continue to get better year after year and they really did outdo themselves this year. If your birthday is coming up and you’re undecided which birthday gift you want from Sephora, look no further. I’ve broken down each set for you (and let you know which one is giving you the most value for freeeeeeee).

I actually have never tried Glow Recipe skincare before this birthday set so this was one I was especially excited to try out. Both products are stay true to their name and smell wonderfully of watermelon (and not the gross artificial watermelon, but fresh, summery watermelon). The toner contains hyaluronic acid and cactus water to quench thirsty skin while watermelon extract hydrates and soothes. The toner also gently exfoliates and clears out pores to deliver smooth and clear skin! The Dew Drops are also a really cool product and something I personally think everyone needs in their skincare routine. It’s a lightweight gel that delivers the most gorgeous glow. It can be used as a brightening serum before the rest of your skincare or even as a primer or highlighter in your makeup routine. We love a versatile product.

I’ve had an obsession with Ouai (and haircare in general) lately so I was pleased to see that one of the sets included this year was a 4 piece set from the brand! Although this set doesn’t actually contain the highest value of products (it’s actually the lowest!), there’s something so exciting about trying out four new products. For starters, this set contains the infamous Leave In Conditioner that not only conditions, detangles and helps to fight frizz but also provides heat protection up to 450°F/232°C which is always much needed for my hair. There’s also the Detox Shampoo in this set that helps to remove hard water deposits and impurities while also exfoliating and removing flakes, residue and buildup with the help of Apple Cider Vinegar (although it luckily does not smell like Apple Cider Vinegar!). The set also contains two body products – a St. Barts Body Cleanser and the Melrose Place Eau de Parfum, both of which smell absolutely heavenly! All in all, it is a fantastic set that I will be getting quite a bit of use out of.

Although this set may look tiny in comparison to the other ones featured in this post, it actually contains over $40 of product which is quite impressive for a freebie from Sephora! To start off with, I love this Limitless Lash Mascara. It has a dual-sided brush with one side resembling a normal bristle brush and the other side serving more like a wide tooth comb that catches and separates every lash. The formula is equally as nice, containing both shea butter and beeswax to condition and nourish lashes but also has very nice lasting power on the lashes! The second item in the set is a gorgeous cream blush. You should probably know I love a good cream blush by now and this one is especially stunning. It’s a warm mauve rose colour that is effortlessly blendable and creamy. It also contains shea butter, avocado oil, and orange peel wax that ensures your skin is nourished and protected. I also absolutely love the mini size for travelling!
