Okay, stop. I don’t want to hear it. I know that I took a month long break from blogging. Please don’t hate me, or worse, boycott my blog. Just let me explain. In reality it was actually only 16 days but it sure felt like a month to me. It was just a super busy month in between getting final papers in for school, finishing up work before the break, moving into my new place and trying to balance all that while still spending time with Oakley. Plus, I think the end of 2020 and the start of 2021 intimidated me. As you are probably aware, every year I write my annual Year in Review blog post. I usually look forward to reflecting on the past year. It’s usually fun. “Usually” being the key word here. But who really wants to reflect on 2020? And thus it is that post that should be going up today instead of this one. But how can one even begin to sum up this year? It’s going to be tough for sure. I’m usually so open on ze blog but I just haven’t figured out how much I actually want to say. Well, I guess we will soon find out how much I decide to spill.

The outfit. Let’s talk about it. It feels like I haven’t done an outfit post in forever (since November 27th to be exact). There’s a reason for that. Ever since I moved out and all my money started going towards furniture and decor, the thought of clothes has excited me less. I’d rather have my new home look good instead of my outfits. Afterall, who is really seeing my outfits these days? And so, because I haven’t been buying new clothes, I have been less enthused to do outfit posts on ze blog. But this outfit is kind of fun because of these boots. Now these sure are statement boots. But that’s not the reason this outfit is so fun. It’s fun because these boots were $5. I know I have talked about the crazy deals I have gotten on my clothes throughout the year (i.e that $9 jacket) but dang, I never thought I would find a pair of boots for $5.

So, I’m sure you’re all wondering how I got a pair of boots for $5. Well, the truth is these boots weren’t expensive to begin with. Because guess where they are from. Just guess. (Drumroll please). Walmart. Yes, you heard that right. Taylor, fashion and beauty blogger extraordinaire (sarcasm), is wearing something from Walmart. Shocking, I know. But c’mon. Don’t even begin to try to tell me you wouldn’t also buy these boots if you saw them for $5 at Walmart. For less than the price of a Grande Pistachio Latte with oat milk from Starbucks (which is amazing by the way), you can get a pair of (faux, duh) snakeskin booties from Walmart. They’re a neutral cream and black print with an elastic panel on the side, a zipper on the other side and the perfect pointed toe. Basically they have everything that I usually look for in a boot. And so, I will proudly wear my Walmart booties because these are cute as hell. And I will be the first to gush about where they’re from.

The rest of my outfit has been on ze blog many, many times. I’m wearing a black turtleneck from Aritzia, black Citizens of Humanity jeans, and my beloved cream sherpa coat. I just love how the cream and black of the outfit perfectly matches the cream and the black of the boots. I will never not be all matchy-matchy. But another thing that I absolutely love about my outfit today is my watch from Nordgreen. I already did a whole post on just this watch before Christmas (see here) so I will keep it short. This is the 36mm Rose Gold Philosopher Watch with the Rose Gold mesh strap and a white face.It is far too pretty for words and I will never (mark my words) stop wearing it. If you want to be twins and get one of your own, enter code TAYLORD at checkout for an extra 15% off on Nordgreen! Thank me later. No really, thank me later. I expect a handwritten thank you note.
