A little while ago, I was sent a box full of mascaras to test out and rate for the Clean Beauty Awards. The Clean Beauty Awards celebrates the very best performing products, created with the healthiest ingredients, from around the world. These products comply with the CertClean standard and are free from:
- 1. BHA and BHT
- 2. Coal Tar Dyes
- 3. DEA-related ingredients
- 4. Dibutyl phthalate
- 5. Formaldehyde-releasing preservatives
- 6. Parabens
- 7. Parfum (also known as Fragrance)
- 8. PEG compounds
- 9. Petrolatum
- 10. Siloxanes
- 11. Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS)
- 12. Triclosan
I was super excited to try out the mascaras because although I pride myself on using skincare that complies with the CertClean standards, makeup without all of these harmful ingredients is always a little harder to find! So, scroll though to find your new favorite mascara!

Ooooh – some of these sound so cool! I’ve never heard of cinnamon to help with eye infections (I could use that), and dyes from natural ingredients sounds so neat!
