What I Ate in Hawaii

What I ate in hawaii

I got my wisdom teeth out at the end of January. Three days later I booked a trip to Hawaii. Five days later I was in Maui. My dentist told me I couldn’t eat any rice, seeds or nuts for a month after my surgery. You know what I ate a lot of in Maui? Yup. Rice, seeds and nuts. I couldn’t go to Maui and not have poke bowls or Macadamia nuts. That would just be a sin. So, I risked it for the biscuits and ate an obscene amount of rice. And guess what? My mouth is fine (I’m knocking on wood as I type this). So, without further ado, this is what I ate in Maui, Hawaii!

Usually, whenever I am travelling, I don’t do a ton of research on where to eat prior to the trip. And that was the case for Maui as well. Because of this, my meals are usually hit or miss. Some are extraordinary, some are less than average. However, Maui did not follow that trendline. Every single meal I had in Maui was absolutely delicious. Every. Single. Meal. That’s a sign I should go back to Hawaii immediately, right?? Whenever people ask me what my favorite food is, I immediately respond with sushi or poke bowls. So the fact that every single menu had at least one variety of poke on it was heaven to me. I may or may not have mercury poisoning after all the tuna I consumed on this trip. But it was well worth it.
