What I Wore in Mexico – Day 3

As I mentioned in my previous Mexico OOTD post, please ignore how pasty white I am in these photos. As you can see, I most definitely did not get a tan in Mexico and therefore, I am as pale as ever. I’m grimacing at how white my legs look here. We need to get out the self tan ASAP. But regardless of my pasty paleness, this was one of my favorite outfits I wore in Mexico.

Two piece sets are the essential beach wear. They make the perfect coverup over your bikini on the beach but then you can also dress them up with cute accessories and fancy sandals for dinner! I love this one from Forever 21 (but I’ll link some of my other favorite two piece sets down below). This set features a cute green palm tree print (what’s more beachy than that?!) on the matching shorts and cropped tank. And both pieces are double lined so you don’t have to worry about everyone seeing your undies (or bathing suit- slightly less scandalous).

But you know what makes me sad? That I will probably never wear this outfit again. Don’t get me wrong, it’s super duper cute, but where can I wear this in Edmonton?! I feel like I would look very seasonally confused. Sure, Edmonton gets hot and all in the summer but it’s definitely not a beach city. I guess I’m just going to have to start planning another beach vacation very soon in the near future. I’m thinking Hawaii.

And of course, to complete any beach outfit, I needed my trusty straw hat. However, the funny thing is that I probably wore this hat for a total of two hours the whole time I was in Mexico. And this hat wasn’t easy to transport. I didn’t want it to get squished in my backpack or suitcase so I carried it in my hand (and sometimes on my head) the entire way to Mexico. It was way more of a hassle than it was worth. Next time, this baby is staying at home. I’ll be opting for a simple baseball cap instead.
